Double Bathtime {The Ordinary Moments}

The Ordinary Moments is a chance to celebrate the little things that happen in your day to day life, the normal things. When blogging we tend to focus on the big milestones but the small, ordinary things are just as special and important.

Double bathtime is something we’ve been doing for the last couple of months but it’s something we still only do once a week – Little Man doesn’t get very dirty and bathing both babies at once is hard work at the moment so we do it when Dave’s at home, usually towards the end of the week.

I’m planning on starting bathing the babies together every night when LM reaches 6 months (in 7 weeks time!) – I think at this point he should be comfortable in our ‘Aquapod’ and so can sit at one end of the bath while LP plays at the other.

For now though, we enjoy our weekly double bath with me bathing Little Man and Dave bathing LP. It’s a lovely time of LM laughing and kicking, LP helping to wash him and Dave and I relaxed as neither of us has to deal with both children by ourselves. LM doesn’t stay in the bath long, literally ten minutes or so, enough time to wash him and for him to have a splish splash but he loves it all the same. He’s always loved the bath – apparently that stems from him having a water birth but I don’t know whether to believe that or not!

  1. We put our two in the bath together for the first time this week and it was amazing to watch them together. They were both splashing in absolute hysterics, one of those moments that makes your heart burst with joy 🙂 x

  2. Aw this is lovely, and look at LM’s face all smiley! We love joint bath time here, and now LL is older we have it every night. She splashes about and adores the interaction with her sister. In fact it is one of my favourite moments of the day! x

  3. I want to bottle up these moments what a lovely photo. I wish I had more pics of us bathing Eva with the boys when she was that little. It is a juggle having three in the bath but it’s a lot of fun – Eva does nothing but giggle the whole time. It’s getting harder now that she’s just turned one as she wants to climb all around the bath and join in with the boys playtime. My bathroom (and me!) end up drenched! My husband thinks I’m bonkers for bathing them all together but then when you see the fun they have it’s worth it. x

    1. Thanks for reading! I like to think that we’ll bath them both together indefinitely. It’s such a great bonding time for them, and bathing is so much more than having a wash 🙂 x
