It’s the ‘Ocean View Two Bedroom’ which was like a little house, with an upstairs and downstairs, built into the hillside. Both rooms had outdoor space and their own shower rooms. Such a great option for a family.

We can’t wait to go back again in the future. Here’s just a little snippet of our trip.

The children loved the Little Beaulieu play area and we loved exploring the National Motor Museum and Top Gear exhibit before having a ride on the monorail! We went on an old open topped bus, explored the Beaulieu Manor House and loved the gardens.
Beaulieu is always a great day out - whatever the weather. This summer they have a whole ‘Summer of Fun’ planned, with activities most days - parades, bird shows and hundreds of sculptures within the grounds too. If you’re looking for a day out this summer definitely think about heading to Beaulieu.

With CGI ABBA and a live band, it’s like being at an ABBA concert 40 years ago but with modern lighting, effects and sound. ABBA look and sound real, it’s a mind blowing experience.
The set includes all the songs you know and love as well as a few less familiar ones.
You can’t take photos during the show which actually made a refreshing change. A whole arena focused purely on the show and soaking up the moment. It’s definitely something the four of us will always remember.
Now, I’m off to sing Dancing Queen all the way home.

They have a fantastic Ultimate Explorer ticket that lets you visit all the attractions as many times as you like for 12 months - and after a day at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard we can see that you need more than one day to really do everything!

We explored HMS Warrior, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Exhibition - which is incredible! We also saw where ships are built and restored and spent time in Action Stations where the kids climbed and did an assault course.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is such a fun, educational day out with something for all ages - we can’t wait to go on their harbour tours next time we visit!

Oh these two! Every day I feel lucky to have them. Oh these two! Every day I feel lucky to have them. As school draws to a close at lunchtime, I’m looking forward to a whole summer with them. My favourite people.

They’ve both had a great year at school this year. Troy’s first without his sister by his side and Athena’s first at secondary school.

They both had great reports, always did their best and have made some really lovely new friends this year. I could not be more proud of them.

Now, let’s go and enjoy the next six weeks before school starts all over again!

Christmas Party Season 2019: Key Items your Family Should be Wearing | AD

*This is a collaborative guest post

If you are looking for some Christmas party season inspiration on what to wear then this guide is definitely for you! These are the months of family dinners, Christmas Day gatherings, New Year’s parties and cosy nights in with loved ones. You can go as casual as you like with chunky knits and winter boots, live your best life with the ultimate glitz and glam or take your festive mood to the max with a Christmas jumper. Whatever your fancy and the occasion I have plenty of options for the whole family.

A night off from the kids

So this may be a rare occurrence but for one night out of the year, you can let your hair down and escape the drama of the little ones running circles around you, and what better time to do it than during the festive period. For mum’s, it’s time to dig out the little black dress and head to the high street to revamp this classic look.

This season it’s all about the accessories. From statement earrings to sequin bags and shimmering shoes. Investing in some must-have party season add ons will really elevate your outfit and take your look to the next level. The best accessory you can buy is footwear as the right pair of shoes has the power to completely transform your recycled dress. From crystal-embellishment to glittering metallics, there are so many styles, colours and price points to choose from. I found these cheap high heels for the party season and what’s better they stock shoes for the whole family too!

Sequins and all that Sparkles

Now that mummy is feeling a million dollars its time to turn our attention to the little princesses, as let’s face it, they usually have more of a social life than we do! From red velvet ruffles to feathers and sparkles, there are so many options for girls party wear this season. If there is one thing little girls love to do, it’s dressing up and dancing with friends at parties.

Take her shopping and spend some quality mother-daughter time together. She may want the perfect rainbow sequin dress with matching bow or a sparkly skirt and festive jumper! Either way, enjoy a day full of dressing up which will be sure to put a smile on both your faces!

For the little man in your life

Even though we can get caught up in a world full of sparkles and matching accessories, we can’t forget about our handsome little boy’s outfits too. They may be a bit more reluctant to look the part as you will more than likely find them running around and sliding on the dancefloor at Christmas do’s. Therefore, you’ll want something comfortable but smart for them. Try classic chinos or stick with denim jeans which can be paired with polo t-shirts or shirts and a cute bowtie for a really smart occasion.

For family lunches and Christmas day, you may want to buy them a matching scarf, hat and gloves set to keep them wrapped up warm but to also showcase that they too can be on-trend with the accessories. Try some snazzy prints or bold colours to really make a statement!

Christmas jumpers

Kids (and adults) love getting into the festive spirit! And what better way than to invest in a Christmas jumper, unless you already have multiple in your wardrobe from previous years. This time of year you may want to cosy up and have a party of your own at home with the family. So it’s the perfect time for Christmas jumpers and matching PJs as you snuggle up on the sofa with festive films, hot chocolate and unlimited marshmallows.

Hopefully, this post has helped plan your party outfits for all the celebrations that will be taking place at the end of 2019!
