Time Together {The Ordinary Moments}

Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you haven’t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. It’s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life – or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically – anything goes. I’ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and there’s a badge at the bottom of the post if you’d like to add it to yours too.

Time Together {The Ordinary Moments}

Today is Christmas Eve Eve and it’s always one of my favourite days of the year. It isn’t full of the tradition and excitement of Christmas Eve and instead it’s relaxed and full of simple festive activities, down time and time together.

The run up to Christmas for us is a lot busier than many other people – with so many days out and trips because of this blog. We are always somewhere and over the course of December we usually see Father Christmas five or six times. It’s work but we enjoy it and it’s become a tradition – guessing whether each Father Christmas we see is the Father Christmas or a stand in because he is just so busy at this time of year.

We always make sure we have time with friends, time with family and as much time of possible as the four of us. The time between the big adventures is spent at home, watching Christmas movies together, building Lego and making jigsaws. We go to our friends houses, they come to our house and we just enjoy being together over the festive season.

Christmas for us is very much about gifts, food and a giant Christmas tree but it’s also about spending time together, having a proper break over Christmas and going back to basics, seeing how much fun we can have without spending much money – or any money at all – and just appreciating our little family unit, our home and everything we have.

However you spend your festive season I hope it’s perfect for you and I hope you get time with those closest to you at this time of year. Merry Christmas.
