Liked & Loved {December 2025}

This month has flown by and I can’t quite believe that Christmas is over already, all done for another year. But, I get to look back at our festive season and share all the lovely things that we’ve enjoyed and appreciated over the last few weeks.

Here’s everything we’ve Liked & Loved in December:

Glow Marwell

Just after my last liked & Loved instalment we went to Glow Marwell a lovely festive event that we really enjoyed. There were so many light installations as well as festive food outlets, marshmallow toasting and even a little Christmas fair this year too. You can read our full review here.

Christmas Tree

We put our Christmas tree up at the very end of December and I love how instantly festive and cosy the house feels. I love this time of year and the Christmas tree being up really marks the start of the festive season for me.

Festive sweets

The lovely people from Bebeto sent us a fantastic selection of festive sweets to enjoy over Christmas and the kids really enjoyed them. The range features Rudolph Red Noses and Festive Mix bags and tubs. You can see the full Bebeto range here.

Cinderella at Rose Theatre

Our first festive show of the season was Cinderella at Rose Theatre in Kingston. I, wrongly, assumed it was a panto but it was actually a really lovely festive production, full of fun, great songs, festive cheer and a lovely underlying family theme too. You can read our full review here.

Zizzi

When we went to see Cinderella we had a lovely wander round Kingston, where I grew up, and had a really nice meal in Zizzi. It’s a really lovely restaurant and so nice to have a simple meal together as a family.

Aladdin at Camberley Theatre

We love seeing the panto at our local theatre and Aladdin was a great night out this year. It’s the first time that Camberley Theatre have used a production company for the show, rather than an in-house team, and I did miss the familiar faces from previous years but we still had so many laughs. It was a really fun evening. You can read our full review here.

Snow White at Woking Theatre

Our final panto of the festive season was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the New Ambassadors Theatre in Woking. This is such a fantastic venue and the performance was incredible – it may well be the best panto we have ever seen. You can read our full review here.

Battersea Power Station

We always have a festive family day out and this year we chose Battersea Power Station as the destination. It’s somewhere we hadn’t been before and we were excited to see it all shiny and new since the redevelopment.

We wandered around the shops, walked around the festive trail and enjoyed all the lights and festive displays everywhere, and we had dinner at Arcade – a food hall where you could all order from different eateries. It was lovely.

The main parts of our day was spent doing the Battersea Chimney Lift which was fantastic – going up to the top of one of the power station chimneys in a lift that pops out the top, giving great views of London. Such a fantastic experience.

We finished the day at Battersea Glide, ice skating at the foot of the power station. This was lovely. It was a great rink, really well looked after and had such a nice atmosphere too. All in all it was a great day at Battersea Power Station.

A sibling road trip

Sadly a family member died at the start of December and I travelled up to Scotland for the funeral with my three younger siblings. Being 16, 18 and 21 compared to me being 41, we’ve never really got to spend good chunks of time together. But, over 14 hours in the car together over the course of two days felt like really quality time together. It was lovely to spend so much time with them despite the circumstances.

Festive days with Friends

In the run up to Christmas we had two lovely days with different sets of friends. They were filled with food, drinks, games and Christmas music. These are always some of my favourite days of the year and I could not love them more.

Christmas

We spent Christmas at home, just the four of us and it was low key and lovely. We’ve had Christmas day as just our little family since the pandemic and wouldn’t change it now. We get up when the kids get up – 8am this year – and take our time opening presents, spend ages in our PJs and enjoy the quality time together. It was lovely.

On Boxing Day family came round and it was so nice to spend time together, eat far too much food and have a few drinks. We all really enjoyed it. This was followed by yet another day of family, food and presents today, finishing off our Christmas celebrations.

And that is Christmas done for another year. I’m looking forward to the next week full of quality time with the kids – and Dave when he isn’t working – and a slower pace before the school term starts.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas however you spent it. It is always over far too soon!
