The best thing about Potters holidays is that everything is included in the price you pay. Four meals a day, all your drinks - including wine, Prosecco, most spirits and soft drinks - great accommodation and so many activities.

Beaulieu is always a great day out - whatever the weather. This summer they have a whole ‘Summer of Fun’ planned, with activities most days - parades, bird shows and hundreds of sculptures within the grounds too. Family Adventure on a Private Jet | AD

*This is a collaborative guest post

Traveling has always been a cherished activity for our family. We love the thrill of exploring new places, immersing ourselves in different cultures, and creating memories that last a lifetime. This year, we decided to embark on an adventure that was a little different from our usual trips – a trip from London to Milan on a private jet.

The decision to fly private was not one we took lightly. As a family, we usually opt for commercial flights, which, despite their occasional inconveniences, have served us well over the years. However, this time, we wanted to try something new, something that would add an extra layer of excitement and luxury to our travel experience.

We were also drawn to the idea of bypassing the usual hustle and bustle of crowded airports, long security lines, and the often hectic boarding process. The promise of a relaxed, comfortable, and personalized journey was too enticing to resist.

So, with a sense of anticipation and a touch of the unknown, we embarked on our family adventure on a private jet, ready to experience travel like never before. Little did we know, this trip was going to exceed our expectations and give us a whole new perspective on what it means to travel in style.

Planning the Adventure

Planning this unique adventure was an exciting process in itself. We started by researching various private jet services, comparing their offerings, prices, and customer reviews. We wanted a service that not only promised luxury but also prioritized safety and customer service. After much deliberation, we chose a renowned private jet charter company known for its exceptional service and high safety standards.

During our time in Milan, we visited iconic places like the Duomo di Milano, the Sforza Castle, and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. We indulged in delicious Italian cuisine, shopped at the fashion boutiques, and even caught a performance at the La Scala Opera House. The kids particularly enjoyed our visit to the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology.

The next step was selecting the jet. We opted for a mid-size jet, perfect for our family size and the duration of the flight. The jet boasted a spacious cabin, plush seating, and a state-of-the-art entertainment system. It also offered a private lavatory and a small galley where light meals and refreshments could be prepared. The idea of having such amenities at our disposal was thrilling and a stark contrast to the limited space and shared facilities we were accustomed to on commercial flights.

Preparing for the journey was also a different experience. Instead of packing with the usual restrictions in mind, we had the luxury of extra luggage space and no strict liquid limitations. We could pack our favorite snacks, board games for the kids, and even our pet dog was welcome on board!

As for the jet itself, it was a marvel. The sleek design, the quiet engines, and the personalized touches like our family name on the welcome screen made it feel like we were stepping into a different world. The cabin was designed with comfort in mind, with fully reclining seats, individual entertainment systems, and large windows that offered panoramic views of the sky.

The most striking difference, however, was the sense of privacy and personal space. Instead of sharing the cabin with hundreds of other passengers, it was just us, our own little world high above the clouds. This level of comfort and exclusivity was something we had never experienced on commercial flights and set the tone for the extraordinary journey that lay ahead.

The Journey Begins

Our adventure truly began at the private aviation terminal in London. Unlike the usual bustling airport terminals, this was a serene and exclusive space, offering a calm start to our journey. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who took care of our luggage and led us to a comfortable lounge where we could relax before our flight.

The boarding process was a breeze. There were no long queues or rushed security checks. Instead, we went through a swift and efficient security process, maintaining our privacy and dignity throughout. This was a far cry from the often stressful experience we were used to at commercial airports.

As we walked towards our jet, parked elegantly on the tarmac, the reality of our adventure began to sink in. The kids were wide-eyed with excitement, and even us adults felt a childlike thrill. The sight of our private jet, waiting just for us, was something out of a movie scene.

Stepping onto the jet was another memorable moment. The warm welcome from the flight crew, the inviting cabin with its plush seats, and the personalized touches like a welcome note and our favorite snacks ready for us, all contributed to the feeling of exclusivity and luxury.

Our initial reactions were of awe and delight. The kids immediately started exploring the cabin, choosing their seats, and checking out the entertainment system. We adults, on the other hand, were more than happy to sink into the comfortable seats, enjoying the peaceful ambiance and the anticipation of the journey ahead.

As the jet smoothly took off from London, we settled in, ready to enjoy our flight to Milan. Little did we know, the best was yet to come.

In-Flight Entertainment and Comfort

Once we were airborne, we began to explore the in-flight entertainment and comfort options that our private jet offered. The kids were thrilled to find a variety of games and movies on the individual entertainment systems. They could choose what they wanted to watch or play, a luxury they rarely had on commercial flights.

For us adults, the entertainment was more about enjoying a good book, listening to our favorite music, or simply relaxing in the comfortable seats. The noise-cancelling headphones provided ensured we could immerse ourselves in our chosen activities without any disturbances.

The food and drink options were another highlight of the flight. We were served a delicious meal, customized to our dietary preferences, and prepared with fresh ingredients. The kids were delighted to have their favorite snacks available throughout the flight. For us adults, being able to enjoy a glass of fine wine while soaring above the clouds was a unique pleasure.

The overall comfort during the flight was unparalleled. The spacious cabin allowed us to move around freely, the seats could be fully reclined for a quick nap, and the temperature was maintained at a comfortable level throughout the journey.

The View from Above

One of the most memorable aspects of the flight was the view from above. Flying at a lower altitude than commercial flights, we had a clearer view of the landscape below. As we flew over the English countryside, the Channel, and eventually the French and Swiss Alps, we were treated to breathtaking views that had us all glued to the windows.

We spotted several notable landmarks and the kids had a great time trying to identify them. It was a wonderful educational experience for them and a visually stunning one for us adults.

The overall experience of flying at a lower altitude, with such clear views and in such comfortable surroundings, was unlike anything we had experienced before. It added a whole new dimension to our journey, making it not just about the destination, but also about the journey itself.

Arriving in Milan

As we began our descent into Milan, the excitement on board was palpable. We were all eager to start exploring the city, but we were also a little sad that our extraordinary flight was coming to an end. The landing was as smooth as the takeoff, and before we knew it, we were touching down in the fashion capital of the world.

The arrival process in Milan was as seamless as our departure from London. We disembarked at a private terminal, bypassing the usual airport crowds. Our luggage was promptly delivered to us, and a chauffeured car was waiting to take us to our hotel. The convenience and efficiency of landing in a private jet were truly impressive.

Our first impressions of Milan were of a vibrant, bustling city that beautifully blended the old with the new. The stunning architecture, the stylish locals, and the aroma of Italian cuisine wafting from the cafes and restaurants were all inviting and exciting.

Our private jet journey added to the overall experience in a significant way. It not only made our travel comfortable and enjoyable but also gave us more time and energy to explore Milan. We were able to start our adventures in the city right away, without needing to recover from a tiring journey.

Returning Home

After an incredible time in Milan, it was time to return home. We were a little sad to leave, but the thought of another private jet journey lifted our spirits. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to the private terminal, where our jet was ready for departure.

The return journey was as enjoyable as the outbound flight, with the same level of comfort and luxury. However, there was a sense of familiarity this time. We knew what to expect, and we could truly relax and make the most of the experience. The kids had their favorite movies lined up, and we adults were looking forward to another peaceful and comfortable flight.

As we soared above the clouds, we reflected on our trip. The private jet experience had added a layer of luxury and convenience to our journey that we had never experienced before. It had made our travel stress-free and enjoyable, allowing us to focus on making memories as a family.

The return journey also gave us a chance to appreciate the service of the flight crew. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and commitment to ensuring our comfort were commendable. They had played a significant part in making our private jet experience memorable.

As we touched down in London, we were filled with gratitude for the incredible adventure we had had. The private jet journey, the exploration of Milan, and the quality time we had spent as a family had made this trip one for the books.
