A Busy Summer {The Ordinary Moments}

We have had pretty much the best summer. We have done so much, had so much time together and made the most of every single day. We spent two weeks on holiday, have had so many other days out and hotel stays and have been on adventures all over the country. It was been an amazing summer.

But, the last six weeks have gone so quickly. It has passed by in the blink of an eye and I can’t believe it’s September already. Where has August gone?

Aside from when we were on holiday we have spent our summer governed by Dave’s work shifts – packing days out and trips into his days off and then having quieter time and days at home when he’s been at work. It’s been a good balance that has worked for all of us – not so much Dave as I’m not sure he’s had much down time at all.

The children have had so many lay ins when we’ve been at home, often not getting up until 9am. They have been well rested, made the most of each day and had time to relax as well. They have loved having time together, been so happy in each other’s company and I know they’ll miss each other when they’re at school next week.

The summer has been long and full. I have loved having my two little sidekicks with me and I have appreciated being at home – and not at work – for the whole summer this year. We have done so much, taken so many photos and made memories that will last us all the through to next summer – and beyond.

  1. I can’t believe it’s September already – our little ones start school in a matter of days – how has that happened?? I know what you’re saying about it being a full and busy summer, this is the first weekend we haven’t had plans since June and it’s been nice, in fact my body’s been telling me to rest! x

  2. Sounds like a brilliant summer. I’ve struggled with being at work but made the most of my time off. I bet you will miss them when they are off to school. So many wonderful memories made xx

  3. I bet it’s going to be so quiet at your house once they go back to school. I have been so sad about Henry starting school but I think I am coming to terms with it now and so excited to see him flourish and learn so much! Here’s looking forward to half term!!
