A Working Weekend {The Ordinary Moments}
Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you haven’t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. It’s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life – or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically – anything goes. I’ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and there’s a badge at the bottom of the post if you’d like to add it to yours too.
A year or two ago Colette and I started a tradition where we would get together for a weekend and work side by side. We live at opposite ends of the country and are great colleagues – bouncing ideas off each other and talking every day. So, it’s nice to be able to actually work together rather than chat through a laptop.
We last worked together over a year ago when I went up to Manchester and have been looking forward to the opportunity to get together again. The time came on Friday as I’d organised a hotel review halfway between Colette and I so that we could have a good chunk of time together, relaxing, working and catching up.
It was so nice to be in the same room and not for a conference or work event. We had a lovely meal together, sat side by side working and made plans. It was perfect.
As I work from home I don’t get very much real life human interaction aside from the school run. It’s fine on a day to day basis and I have so many friends and colleagues in my phone and on my computer but it’s so nice to have a good dose of company, outside of immediate family, every few months – and these weekends are perfect for that.
If you have an ordinary moment this week, come and link up – I’m looking forward to reading the moments that you share and will comment and share them on Twitter through the course of the week. Thanks so much for taking part.
I don’t spend much time with people other than my family in real life, but it’s always a pleasure when I do. (even if we just end up playing Never Have I Ever 😉 )
Meeting up and working together sounds like such a lovely thing to do Donna. So glad you had a lovely weekend. Working from home it is nice to have a work colleague for the day! xx
It is nice to meet up with others, I find I don’t get to do that enough. I can imagine it must be nicer when you work from home. I spend all day in the office with colleagues, so this would be nice xx
That looks such a lovely scene, I too enjoy human interaction though at present am quite happy in my own company.
