Tent Lunches {The Ordinary Moments}

Our favourite lunches are indoor picnics – on a blanket on the floor or just at the children’s little table in front of the TV. For me a picnic lunch isn’t about where they eat it but about the food they eat – picky things, snacks, fruit – whatever we have to hand at the time.

For some reason children always prefer a mish mash of bits and pieces on a plate that they can eat in whatever order they like. It’s more fun and exciting than a sandwich on a plate – even if sandwiches are included in the picnic!

Our picnic lunches have stepped up a notch recently though. LP has decided that no picnic is complete, even indoors, without a tent. LP’s new favourite place to have a picnic is on the rug, in front of the TV, in her beloved new Jake tent.

Little Man always squeezes inside too and they will both sit, peeking out of the gap in the tent, watching TV whilst they eat their picnic lunches.

I have no idea what goes on inside LP’s head but I love her imagination and if eating lunch in her tent makes her happy then who am I to complain?
