School Disco {The Ordinary Moments}
Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you haven’t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. It’s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life – or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically – anything goes. I’ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and there’s a badge at the bottom of the post if you’d like to add it to yours too.
On Friday LP had a huge moment in her life – her first school disco of the junior campus. She spoke about it for weeks – from the first time she found out it was happening all the way through until she left for the disco with her Daddy. She was beyond excited.
She had planned what she was going to wear – the dress she wore to her Nanny’s birthday celebrations last January – and had new sparkly shoes for the occasion. She wanted me to do her hair in a fancy style and she wanted to get there bang on time. She didn’t want to miss a moment.
LP went off to her school disco and had probably the best ninety minutes of her life. To her, it felt like a whole evening. She had a hot dog, took some change for the tuck shop and danced her little feet off. She had the very best time and I really appreciate that things like this are organised at the school, fun things to bring the children together outside of the classroom or playground.
It’s safe to say that LP had a great time and is already talking about her next school disco. Little Man is a little envious as we’re not sure when his will be – or if his campus are even having one – but, worst case, we’ll set up a little disco for them at home. Everyone loves to dance, don’t they?
If you have an ordinary moment this week, come and link up – I’m looking forward to reading the moments that you share and will comment and share them on Twitter through the course of the week. Thanks so much for taking part.

N refused to go to his school discos. In 3 years he’s never been to one. Fine when it was outside school but then parents moaned about them having to pick up the take kids back there later. So last year they did it in January on a Friday afternoon. N and 1 other boy still didn’t want to go so had to sit in the classroom with the iPad. I’m not impressed. It ostracized those who don’t want to go whereas it’s less obvious when its out of school. I not sure whether gallery it this year. But I’m not surprised if he won’t. Its just too many kids I a darkened light up hall jumping and running around like nutters. Although the head says the hard bit is keeping them all from spending all their time in the toilets
Aww! It sounds like she had a wonderful time.
My youngest went to her first proper secondary, after school one a few weeks ago and it made her seem so grown up. x
Sounds like she had a wonderful time. What a gorgeous dress and she looks so happy xx
