A Love of Jigsaws {The Ordinary Moments}

Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you haven’t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. It’s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life – or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically – anything goes. I’ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and there’s a badge at the bottom of the post if you’d like to add it to yours too.

I have always loved jigsaws. I spent my maternity leave before the babies came along bouncing on a ball doing jigsaws at the dining table. Since then I’ve done jigsaws as a way of having time out on weekends when we have no plans. But, since coronavirus, jigsaws have become a weekend tradition, something we do as a family to pass the time.

Little Man has always loved jigsaws too and does ones that are far beyond his years. But at the moment Dave and LP are also joining in. We spend the weekend doing bits of the jigsaw here and there, knowing we’ll complete it by the end of Sunday, working as a team.

I’ve bought a few new jigsaws since lockdown was announced and each week the children decide which one we’ll work through. They love seeing who can find specific pieces, who can help me put the outside together and who can put in that coveted last piece.

I have always remembered my favourite childhood jigsaws, and the ones that were terrible pocket money purchases. I’m sure when the children look back they’ll remember lockdown as a time when we did jigsaws, all gathered around the dining table, having snacks and drinks and working towards a goal together.

The Ordinary Moments

If you have an ordinary moment this week, come and link up – I’m looking forward to reading the moments that you share and will comment and share them on Twitter through the course of the week. Thanks so much for taking part.
