A Blogging Weekend {The Ordinary Moments}

Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you haven’t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. It’s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life – or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically – anything goes. I’ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and there’s a badge at the bottom of the post if you’d like to add it to yours too.

A Blogging Weekend {The Ordinary Moments}

Regular readers will be used to me going away from time to time, for blogging conferences or little adventures by myself, with Dave or with friends. This weekend I have spent at the other end of the country, having time out with a bunch of lovely bloggers.

Every few months we organise a blogging retreat where we go somewhere with around ten bloggers and just have time out from everyday life, time to catch up, collaborate and bounce ideas off each other.

This weekend I was in Cumbria with eight other bloggers and it couldn’t have been a nicer weekend. The sun shone, the scenery was beautiful and the company was fantastic. It was a pretty brilliant weekend.

I drove up on Friday and back today – not quite realising how far away Cumbria is. But, it was so worth the drive. As soon as we came off the motorway we could see mountains and lush green landscape as far as the eye could see. It was so beautiful.

Over the weekend we had meals together, drank together late into the evening and explored some of Cumbria – seeing some of the lakes that the Lake District is famous for. It was so nice to spend quality time with such lovely people, people who just understand this industry and who understand the need to spend far too much time scrolling through your phone, the need to photograph everything you eat and the need to check in to social media at regular points through your day. Sometimes only other bloggers can really get another blogger and a weekend like that is just what I need a couple of times a year.

So another weekend – and another retreat – done. I wonder where the next one will take us?
