2014 – The Year Ahead of Us

I’ve written over the last couple of weeks about our 2014 Bucket List with things we hope to achieve this year. I’ve also made a list of New Year’s Resolutions but as well as that there is a lot that I’m already excited about in 2014.

This year we are going to a very special wedding at the end of March, the wedding of a lovely Twitter chum and part of our ‘Tweet Street’ group of friends. It will be the first time that most of Tweet Street have met up and something I’m really looking forward to. We’re spending a week in Cornwall for the wedding, sight seeing and spending time with our Twitter chums. I’m really, really excited not only about a little holiday but about meeting a group of friends that I feel I know so well without having met them yet.

2014 will also be the year that Little Man turns one and Little Pickle turns 3. Both will have garden parties with friends, balloons, presents, cake and food and it will be great to get our whole family and lots of friends together to celebrate these milestones in their lives.

LP and LM will be getting a new cousin this year as well as another new play mate courtesy of one of their honorary Aunties. 2014 will be bringing at least these two new additions into our lives – Everyone loves new babies!

Close friends of ours are looking to move a fair distance away this year too, although this is in no way a bad thing. Instead of meeting up for an evening or afternoon here and there, we’ll be planning day trips to visit or even maybe a weekend to fill their house with Wisharts! It’s an incredibly exciting time for them and I’m looking forward to visiting their new home when they find it!

LP also starts nursery school in September and this will be a huge change for her – up until now she has spent 6 months of her life with a childminder and apart from that she has always been with family. She’s also never had a very rigid routine – lunch time changes, the time she gets up changes and her bedtime varies from day to day – 7pm some days, 7:30-8pm on others. Starting nursery will be the start of a proper routine for her, the start of her school life and such an amazing opportunity for her – new friends, learning new things. 2014 will be exciting for LP!

This year I turn 30, so a big milestone in my life and something I’ll be celebrating – I’ve never had a party or any real celebration so I think my 30th will be a good excuse to change the habit of my lifetime!

I’m also looking forward to this Christmas. LP will really, really understand and Little Man will be walking around and getting involved in it. We’ll take them both to visit Santa for the first time and are even planning a trip into London to see the Christmas lights!

What are you looking forward to most this year? Is there anything you’re excited about?

I’m especially excited for you with meeting your Twitter friends. A group of us are planning a meet up in March which I’m excited about too. It’s amazing the people you ‘meet’ on Twitter – I’m especially lucky to have met someone who lives 10 minutes away and our boys were born a day apart!

  4. Loads of fab things to look forward to! That’s so lovely that you are going to meet some Twitter friends for real, and at such a happy occasion (and looking all glammed up). Good luck with LP starting nursery. A bit more time for you to do pure baby stuff with LM, too. And if he naps…some time for you (fingers crossed!).
