LP’s 1st Birthday

Yesterday, 28th August, was LP’s 1st Birthday!

To mark the occasion we had a gathering at our house on Bank Holiday Monday. A BBQ with friends and family. It was a really lovely day! A few people unfortunately couldn’t make it for various reasons but it was still a lovely day.

Dave manned the BBQ, under a gazebo, as the weather – as always on the August Bank Holiday – was temperamental. Inside we had buffet food! Oh how we love a nibble!

Our iPod was playing in the back ground, LP and her best friend AW played in the ball pool and on the swings along with LP’s cousin TW. Everyone made a fuss of the babies, especially LP and she was spoilt rotten – presents galore!

LP’s Grandad bought LP her Birthday Cake, from M&S, as part of her present, and she had her first taste of cake. She loved it!

On her actual Birthday, Dave and I just spent the day at home with LP and opened presents and played with her toys – Lego being an instant favourite!

It’s strange to think we now have a 1 year old. The year has gone so fast, LP has learnt so much. It is a real privilege to be able to watch her grow up, watch her develop and share it all with her. To mark her Birthday I wrote her a letter, telling her about the year, everything she has achieved and what we are looking forward to in the year to come. I’ll write a letter every year and hopefully they’ll overlap nicely so that she can read them in order in later life.

It’s hard to remember a time before LP. I didn’t realise until she was here, but life really did have an LP shaped hole in it before she arrived. I feel incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing little person in my life. She amazes me daily with how clever she is, how quickly she learns new things and how sociable she is! She really is a perfect Little Pickle!

Happy Birthday LP x
