5 Must-Have Accessories for Women in Summer 2025
*This is a collaborative guest post
There is nothing better than those long days filled with sunshine, ice cream and family adventures. But, somehow summer always feels like it sneaks up on us – even though we can see the dates and know it is coming. I always seem to wait until the last few days, then start dashing around, especially when it comes to updating my summer wardrobe. But what exactly does one need to feel a little more prepped?

If you are anything like me, you probably end up sticking with the bare essentials too. I always feel like my summer could be so much easier – and more stylish – with just a little more preparation, and it is true. The good news is you don’t need much. Here are a few key accessories that you really need to get through the season in comfort and style:
A Pair of Sunglasses (or two)
Nothing screams “summer” like a cool pair of sunglasses. But besides looking stylish, wearing a pair can help protect your eyes from the drying effects of wind and the sun during park days, driving or just sitting in the garden.
Choosing sunglasses is quite straightforward – just go with something you like. This year, I have my eyes on a pair of Lacoste sunglasses. I like their classic and stylish look, but most importantly, they are practical for holidays and daily wear.
Hats and Hair Accessories
Now that your eyes are protected, it is time to get something for the head and face. Nothing ruins a summer day like sunburns and the discomfort they come with. I always go with a wide-brim hat or a bucket hat and a pair of scarves draped over my shoulders.
You could argue that sunscreen can do exactly that – protect your face against sunlight. But a hat can double as a cover-up even on the messiest hair day.
A Roomy Bag
You do not need a bag that carries your whole summer with you, but it needs to be roomy enough to bring all essentials. I usually go for totes or cross-body bags, with lots of room, mostly because they are easier to carry, even when you have stuffed the entire house in there.
My choice of bag is often guided by whether or not I can fit in snacks, wipes, sunscreen and all the bits that somehow end up in mum’s bag. But I still ensure it’s stylish by picking something I like.
Jewellery
A summer look wouldn’t be complete without a few pieces of jewellery. They are perfect for transforming everyday outfits into something more special, without being over the top.
Your jewellery box can include anklets, colourful beads, earrings and chains – it all depends on what you like. A bonus point if you have anything sunny, such as a sun-themed pair of earrings.
Summer Footwear
The last item on our summer shopping list (of essentials) is summer footwear. You don’t want to be showing up at the beach with your regular shoes; your feet will probably cook.
When choosing summer footwear, the most important considerations are comfort and breathability. Think sandals, slip-ons and trainers. You could also add crochet pumps to that list.
Conclusion
Summer is all about enjoying every little moment – and having these accessories just makes it a bit easier. Remember, accessories aren’t just about looking fancy, but also about feeling good and being prepared. So, grab your sun hats and sandals and make this summer one for the books.
