My Emotional Relationship with my Weight and Food

I’ve realised recently that my weight, and my diet, is very much a reflection of the mood I’m in, how I’m feeling and how life is at that moment. There never seems to be a ‘happy medium’ for me, instead my weight – and diet – seem to fluctuate as the years and months go by.

Pure Gym Camberley Review

Disclosure: We were sent the featured products for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.

Three months ago I had never been to a gym – aside from a couple of legs, bums and tums sessions just before I got married. I had never used machines in a gym – never even used a changing room in a gym – but earlier in the summer something clicked. I wanted to not just lose weight, or tone up, but I wanted to make a lifestyle change.

Regular readers will know how into running and general exercise I have become over the last couple of years – and more so over the last few months. I am always looking for ways to fit exercise into daily life, especially with a young family, so when we were offered the change to try out the Thule Glide running stroller I couldn’t wait to give it a go.

When anyone starts to think about getting fit there are usually so many obstacles in their way – lack of money, lack of time, lack of motivation or lack of child free time. For me, it was the latter. Another Week of Healthy Living

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that I have now spent the last two weeks following the #SlimFastChallenge. I’ll be writing up about that in more detail in a few days but for now I’ll give a mini update. This week was a lot easier than the first week. I think my body had got used to the change in my diet and so I could deal with the types and amounts of food I could eat a lot better. I had less hungry times and enjoyed the Slim Fast plan a lot more this week – so much so that I am considering doing it going forward just on a looser basis.

My Fitness Goals

Review: Adidas Energy Boost 2 Running Shoes

Having started a bit of a health kick a couple of weeks ago, I was asked by Simply Health to talk about fitness – how I keep fit and my fitness goals. Anyone that knows me will know that fitness didn’t feature in my life for at least the first 29 years of my existence but then I started running and have never looked back.

My First Week of Diet and Exercise

Last Monday I started trying to be healthier – drinking more water, running again and eating better. The week saw me start the #SlimFastChallenge which I’m continuing this week and I really was so motivated to finally shift some of the weight I have been trying to lose for such a long time and also get into a good, long term exercise routine.
