These mince pie parcels are a great alternative to mince pies and something the whole family love. Easy to make and a really filling treat, they're perfect for the festive season.

Ingredients
1sheet of ready made shortcrust pastryat room temperature
200gmincemeat
1eggbeaten
caster sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven 200C
Unroll the pastry sheet and cut it in half along the shortest length
Place the two halves of pastry gently on top of each other and cut into evenly into six rectangles
Remove the top pieces of pastry and set aside
Place a big spoonful of mincemeat in the centre of six pastry rectangles
Brush beaten egg around the mincemeat, along the edges of each piece of pastry
Place the additional pastry rectangles on top and press down along the edges with a fork
Brush egg over the tops of the parcels and sprinkle with caster sugar
Press the fork a few times into each parcel to create air holes
Bake in the centre of the oven on a baking tray for 15 minutes until golden on top
Leave to cool and enjoy
