Ingredients
400gdark chocolate
125gunsalted butter or margarine
45mlgolden syrup
1tsppeppermint essence or flavouring
200gshortbread biscuitsbroken into pieces
50gmini marshmallows
100gglace cherries
50gcandy canesroughly 4 – crushed
To decorate:

Instructions
Break up the chocolate and put it in a large bowl with the butter, golden syrup and peppermint flavouring.
Melt chocolate mixture using the heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water on a low heat or in the microwave using short blasts and stirring regularly.
Once melted, leave to cool slightly for 5-10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix the biscuit pieces, crushed candy canes, marshmallows and glace cherries.
Pour in the melted chocolate and stir well.
Pour the chocolate mixture into a lined cake tin or brownie pan.
Top with the candy cane pieces and sprinkles.
Put in the fridge to set for at least 4 hours.
Slice and serve.
