Living Arrows {January 2023}

Up until the end of last year I took part in, and hosted, Living Arrows, a weekly blog linky. The project originally took its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday for years, I’ve shared a photo of each child that symbolises childhood.

I started this project as a participant back at the start of 2014 and over the last 9 years the posts have shown the children grow into the people they were always destined to be.

Little Pickle has gone from being a tiny two and a half year old toddler, with big smiles and a love of Curious George, to being in Year 7 in Secondary School. She’s beautiful, funny and hard working. She loves down time, loves to read and does her homework without any issues.

Little Man was a tiny baby when I started joining in with this project. He was a seven month old ball of energy. Full of smiles and always starting the day in our bed for a cuddle.

Now, he’s in Year 5. He’s so clever, so funny and wears his heart of his sleeve. He feels everything so strongly, loves Star Wars, loves to read and loves crafting. I could not be more proud of both of them.

And now, for my tenth year of Living Arrows, I am moving to posting once a month, documenting the children growing but less regularly. Sharing my favourite photos of them at the end of each month and taking this right back to basics.

So here are my Living Arrows in January.
