Puff Pastry Chocolate Twists Recipe

These puff pastry chocolate twists have to be one of the simplest and quickest bakes to makes – and the children love helping with them. Whether you’re looking for a quick and easy sweet treat, an after school snack or an indulgent breakfast, this could be just the thing.

Ingredients

  • sheet of ready made puff pastry
  • 200 g chocolate spread
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200C/400F/Gas 7 and line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper
  • Make sure the pastry is at room temperature and unroll onto a clean work surface
  • Cut the pastry in half length ways
  • Spread the chocolate spread over one half of the pastry
  • Place the other half of the pastry on top and press down firmly
  • Cut the pastry sandwich you’ve created into twelve equal strips
  • Twist each pastry strip and place on the prepared baking sheet
  • Brush with the beaten egg
  • Put the baking tray in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown
