We love finding alternative ways to use mincemeat and creating twists on classic recipes. Traditional thumbprint cookies are one of the simplest bakes to make – especially when baking with children – so we thought we’d create a Mincemeat Thumbprint Cookies recipe for you to enjoy over the festive season at home.

Ingredients
200gbutter or margarine
200gcaster sugar
300gplain flour
200gmincemeat
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4
Cream the butter and caster sugar in a bowl.
Add the flour and mix well.
Scoop the dough into balls and place evenly spaced on a baking sheet. Press down the centre of each one with your thumb.
Fill the dents with mincemeat and baking in the centre of the oven for 15 minutes until starting to brown.
Leave to cool completely before enjoying.
