X-Files, Foo Fighters and Plans #LittleLoves

This week has been a completely different week to the norm. Not only has it been half term, so we’ve had the luxury of having LP at home with us, but it has also been a week of spending time with friends, road tripping and holidaying. It’s been pretty awesome to be honest!

Here are a few things that we have been loving this week:

Last week I said that I’d started The Chamber of Secrets and given to the amount of time we’ve spent in the car I have finished that book – as well as having read the whole of The Prisoner of Azkaban and nearly finishing The Goblet of Fire. We’re not home until Sunday night and I may be getting twitchy having not expected to read this much so not bringing any other Harry Potter books with us. I’m really enjoying reading them again.

Hubby and I have spent our holiday evenings watching X-Files. It’s a holiday tradition and we’re working our way through the seasons – although we’re only on season two! We love it though, it’s so grainy and old fashioned with huge mobile phones and really square cars but it’s classic sci-fi at it’s best.

We’ve been listening to the radio during dinner and I love how random songs always come on that you haven’t heard in years. I love the Foo Fighters and hadn’t heard this song in ages – it’s one of my favourites.

This week has been all about the layers! It’s amazing how much colder it is up in Scotland than it is 500 miles further south and we are just so not used to it! All of us have been wearing jumpers, coats, hats, gloves and scarves this week and we’re looking forward to it being just a tad warmer down south next week.

As close to a photo of us wrapped up warm as I could get – dressing gowns!

This week has all been about making plans. Seeing friends and having quality family time really makes me want more of it so we have been planning more weekends with friends, more family time and more holidays. I cannot wait to see what the next year brings.

and lastly…

Today we are checking out of our holiday home and driving even further into Scotland to visit Pam from Life with Munchers and her gorgeous family. It will be great to spend 24 hours in their company and introduce the children but most of all it will just be lovely to see her again. The internet, and modern technology, makes it possible to not only make friends online but then sustain them easily but it isn’t a patch on being in the same room, laughing together and having a hug.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I’m new to your blog and really enjoyed reading this post. I love listening to the radio for the same reason as you. I always hear at least one song I love but had almost forgotten about!
Here in NZ it’s summer and has been so hot that it’s hard to imagine anyone needing to wear layers…

I seriously wish I had the time to read, every spare minute I get (which is rare with my two haha) is spent editing or filming or writing haha. I love how fast you read though! I used to be the same and was always sad when I finished a book xx

I love the Harry Potter books too. I’m so glad you’re having such a great holiday. We are also going to head for Scotland this year to visit friends. Not looking forward to the journey, but worth it for the destination.x

My son’s just started reading the Harry Potter books and we’ve been doing it together. I do enjoy them so much – it’s great to re-discover them with a little boy who’s all ears! Enjoy the rest of your time in Scotland.

Sounds like you had a great half term. I think I only read the first 5 or 6 harry potter books. I still look forward to reading them with my daughter. We’ve been watching the new X files here.

You can’t beat the Foo Fighters can you. Sounds as if you have had an amazing holiday and how lovely that you managed to catch up with so many friends. Eek I don’t know how you manage to read in the car, just checking twitter makes me feel sick. Have a great week x
