Cadbury Chocolate Cake with Mini Eggs

This Chocolate loaf cake, topped with chocolate frosting and Mini Eggs, is such a simple but delicious bake that the whole family will love. A simple but lovely Easter treat.

Ingredients

  • 180 g unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 180 g caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g self raising flour
  • 40 g cocoa powder
  • 100 g chocolate chips

To decorate

  • Chocolate frosting
  • 100 g Mini Eggs crushed slightly

Instructions

  • Preheat oven at 160C/300F/Gas 2
  • Cream together the butter and caster sugar in a mixing bowl
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well
  • Pour the batter into a lined/greased loaf tin and bake in the middle of the oven for 50 minutes until brown on the top and a skewer comes out clean. Leave to cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Once cool, top with the frosting and Mini Eggs and serve.
