Golden Syrup Fairy Cakes Recipe

These golden syrup cakes are sweet and delicious, a bake perfect for any occasion and one that we love for breakfast or just as a sweet treat in the afternoon.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g margarine or unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 80 g golden caster sugar
  • 100 g golden syrup
  • 200 g self raising flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven 180C/350F/Gas 4
  • Line a muffin tin with paper cases
  • Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix until well combined
  • Spoon the cake batter mixture evenly between the paper cases
  • Bake in the centre of the oven for 15 minutes until golden brown and nicely risen
  • Leave to cool on a wire rack
