Who is What the Redhead said?

I was tagged by Sally over at Who’s the Mummy? to share a little bit more about me in a random Q&A. I love these posts as they are often random, insightful and fun to both read and write.

Who is What the Redhead said?

So here goes:

When was the last time you cried?

I cry all the time at the moment. If the children mention our old boy cat I cry, if they do something that makes me really proud I cry and if Little Man pronounces a word right for the first time I cry. Parenting is an emotional rollercoaster!

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

I’d like to think so. I try to be as nice and kind as possible. I like to help people and I think I’m pretty fun to be around. I have a good sense of humour and I’m not too niche in my likes and dislikes. Yeah, I’d be my friend.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I used to use sarcasm constantly until I started blogging properly. Then I found that sarcasm is often lost online, that people read what you say as black and white so I had to step away from the sarcasm. Now I still use sarcasm but I save it for face to face conversations and avoid it online unless I’m 100% sure it will be taken the right way. It’s far too easy to offend people online.

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Their teeth. I have hated my teeth for so long that I am always so envious of other people’s teeth. But, as I currently have braces to straighten my teeth I may stop noticing other people’s as much. Who knows.

Scary movie or happy endings?

Happy endings every time. I love a movie where all the questions get answered at the end, there are no loose ends and where everything works out. Scary movies where everyone dies or the world ends? Nah, I need the happy in my life.

Favorite smells?

Freshly cut grass, fresh coffee and that smell just outside just after a big rain storm – all dewy, earthy and new.

What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?

Mexico on our honeymoon. Although we have been to the Dominican Republic and Las Vegas too but Mexico is a little bit further ‘as the crow flies’.

Do you have any special talents?

No, nothing at all. I can’t sing, can’t dance and can’t really play any instruments.

Where were you born?

In Kingston, Surrey.

What are your hobbies?

Aside from blogging? I love to read, I love music – and going to gigs when we get the chance. I love to travel, love a spa day/break and just love a pot of tea with a friend.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be either a wildlife photographer, a vet or a criminal psychologist. A bit of a mixed bag!

How many countries have you been to?

Oooh good question! The Dominican Republic, Italy, France, Mexico and America. Oh, and Tunisia, a horrendous holiday that I have almost entirely blanked from my memory!

What was your favourite/worst subject in School?

I absolutely loved art. I loved to sketch mostly and I’m still sad I didn’t go back to collect my art coursework after my GCSEs had finished. Worst would probably have been German. I had to pick a language but even to this day I can’t do accents so at school I sounded like a cockney trying to speak German. I was fine with writing it, reading it and listening to it but speaking it? No, awful.

What is your favourite drink?

Gin. I love a gin and tonic. But, I also love a nice cold pint of Coke on a hot day. And tea. Tea makes my world go round.

Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?

I don’t really watch YouTube….

How many boyfriends have you had?

A handful – then I met Dave when I was 19 and the rest is history.

Favourite memory from childhood?

I remember being pushed in a pram – a classic Silver Cross style pram – during a hail storm. It such a fleeting memory but one so vivid I can almost feel it.

How would you describe your fashion sense?

Casual, comfortable and nothing special. I love leggings, jeans, tops and Converse. Dresses and boots if I need to be a bit smarter.

Tell us one of your bad habits!

The only thing I can think of is not taking my make up off before bed. I forget to do it more often than I actually do it. I know, it’s bad for my skin but I still end up falling asleep and forgetting.

And there you have it – a bit more about me. Now, as is customary with these things, I’ll tag a few more people to answer these questions too. So consider yourself tagged: Laura, Becci, Lauren, Rosie and Hayley.
