Valentines Movies on Netflix

It’s Valentines Day next week and although we don’t really do anything to celebrate, and just see it as another Hallmark Holiday, it is nice to have an excuse to sit and watch some nice romantic movies – especially a bit of a rom-com that Hubby and I can both laugh along to any enjoy.

Here are some of my favourite movies with romance in the storyline that are all currently available on Netflix:

Titanic – This is such a classic isn’t it? I watched it at the cinema when it first came out and as I was only about 13 at the time I didn’t really appreciate it. But, it was such a great love story, with so much history too – shame really that there was never going to be a happy ending!

Never Been Kissed – This was another classic from my teenage years. Drew Barrymore, as a journalist, pretending to be a student for a newspaper article and falling for her teacher but getting to relive those angst filled school years too.

My Best Friend’s Wedding – Another oldie but a goodie! Julia Roberts realises she’s in love with her best friend just days before his wedding. Will she stop him marrying someone else?!

Bride Wars – Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson, planning their weddings on the same day – what’s not to love? Can you imagine having your wedding on the same day as your best friend? What wedding will mutual friends go to? Which wedding will be better? Oh the drama!

Legally Blonde – One of my all time favourite movies! Reese Witherspoon playing a pink loving blonde who is too ditzy to get engaged. She follows her boyfriend to law school to prove to him that she’s more than just a pink fluff loving bimbo. This movie always makes me smile.

Maid in Manhattan – I know, a movie with Jennifer Lopez playing the lead role – as a maid. But, it was the ultimate romance. Girl meets boy, boy thinks girl is someone she isn’t but fate has made their worlds collide. Will they live happily ever after?!

Valentines Movies on Netflix

Grease – I had to have a classic musical in here somewhere – and this may be my favourite musical. I won’t tell you what Grease is about – as you should know. And if you don’t – go watch it now. Actually, go watch it now anyway!

Ghost – This has to be one of the best love stories ever made. Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore play a couple who are madly in love until Patrick is killed. He carries on as a spirit, using Whoopi Goldberg, a psychic, to help him put things right and watch over Demi. A bit creepy but romantic all the same.

Valentines Movies on Netflix

Zookeeper – This is such a sweet movie. A zookeeper can’t find a girlfriend – until the animals in the zoo step in to help!

So as you can see, my taste in movies is pretty eclectic – but Netflix helps as it has something for everyone. Whatever kind of romantic movie you like check out the Romance category on Netflix for even more inspiration.

Ah these look awesome. We went through a stage of watching a movie in the evening and it was really nice. Definitely need to watch more. Bridget Jones’s baby is next on my list.

Legally Blonde and Never been Kissed love those films so much – but I’m not sure if they’re on Netflix but I would add Coyote Ugly to this list and 10 Things I Hate About You 🙂
