The Start of My Post-Baby Weight Loss Journey

Today was a big day for me – I not only took Little Man for his 6 week check up with our GP but I also signed up to Weight Watchers.

I did Weight Watchers after having LP and lost all my pregnancy weight plus a little bit more. You can read the story of that weight loss here.

I am in the fortunate position that when I was at Weight Watchers previously I managed to get down to my goal weight. This means that from then on I was a ‘Gold Member’ and allowed to attend meetings for free as long as I didn’t go over my goal weight by more than 5lb and I had to attend 5 meetings a year. However, a few months after getting to goal I found out that I was pregnant again – so I could not go to meetings anymore. However, I went back today knowing that I was obviously more than 5lb over my goal weight but Weight Watchers know that you’ll need a hand losing the weight after a baby and so they give Gold Members 6 months grace to get back own to their goal weight without having to pay for meetings!

These are my current statistics:

Pre-Pregnancy Weight: 10st 5.5lb

Today’s Weight: 12st 3lb

Ultimate Goal: 10st 10lb

First Goal (5%): 11st 8lb

Pro Points Per Day: 26 + 14 Breastfeeding Points = 40 Pro Points

I would like to get to my 5% goal, a loss of 9lb by 12nd July. 9lb in 4 weeks should be achievable for me but if it takes slightly longer then that’s fine too. My main issue at the moment is that the only bottoms that fit me are leggings. Jogger bottoms and PJ bottoms are fine for around the house but I’d like a bit more variety for when I leave the house!

I am very aware that since LM came along I have been eating a lot of things I probably shouldn’t have – Aldi Fake Magnums at 12 Pro Points each, Walkers crisps at 5 Pro Points a pack and endless amounts of cheese. I would also tend to get ‘munchies’ in the evenings whilst watching TV an eat houmous and pitta, homemade nachos, biscuits with a cup of tea or really anything in the house! Bad habits form quickly but eating in the evenings stops here.

From now on I’ll be doing a blog post every Monday with my weight loss update. It will also include my Meal Planning Monday with Weight Watchers friendly meals for the week – these will generally be slow cooker meals that I’ve adapted or quicker easier meals for when we’re lacking time. I’ll include the Pro Points values too for anyone that may be following Weight Watchers too.

If anyone wants any moral support or even wants to join my weekly weigh in then you’ll be more than welcome, it really helps weight loss to have other people there doing the same thing. Dave is also doing weight watchers which will definitely help me stay in check!
