In any relationship you need to communicate, work together towards common goals and compromise.
Two people may not have the same views on everything, they may not see everything from the same perspective and they may have different ideas but if they discuss their differing opinions and ideas and see things from the other’s perspective then there should never be any real issues.
Some people in relationships are completely different – chalk and cheese, others are incredibly similar – two halves of the same whole. It takes all combinations to have good relationships – there’s no right or wrong answer to who someone should be with.
Hubby and I have been together for 9 years and married for four. He is my best friend and he makes me laugh every day. We are incredibly similar in some ways and incredibly different in others.
Sometimes Hubby and I don’t see eachother properly for a few days due to his shifts but we always text or phone to keep in touch – we always talk in some way first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
In our home life we do different jobs around the house – Hubby irons, cleans the kitchen & bathroom and hoovers. I cook, organise washing clothes and keep everything tidy. Between us, everything gets done.
With the Children we share everything – I tend to look after Little Man when Hubby’s at home and he’ll sort out LP. If LP wakes in the night Hubby will go settle her and he will do her bath and bed when he’s home.
Hubby and I are like most couples – we disagree sometimes, we argue at 2am half asleep when trying to sort LM out, we get ratty when we’re tired and sometimes we annoy eachother.
But when it comes down to it, we’re a team.
This post isn’t to tell you how amazing my Hubby is. It’s to tell you how amazing we are, together.
David and Donna.
Who’s in your team? What makes you an amazing team?
