Stereophonics, Baking and Gin #LittleLoves

This week has flown by! It was my birthday on Tuesday and because of that I haven’t done a huge amount of work, have spent time with my favourites and have just had a really nice week. Here are a few things I’ve loved this week:

I read a great post by Jess about the direction blogging is going in. I love blogging and I can’t imagine a time when I’m not writing so it was great to read Jess saying to just do what you love – and that love will shine through.

I’ve also been reading about, and ordering, letters from the Lapland Mailroom. They create beautiful personalised letters for children and now that  LP can read and Little Man is just starting to read and write having letters delivered from Father Christmas will be amazing for them. Plus, you can use code xmaspromo17 for 20% off if you order letters before 15th November.

This is my favourite time of the year for TV viewing – The Apprentice, First Dates, Undateables, X-Factor, Dragons Den, Great British Bake Off… Plus Hubby and I have just caught up with the new series of Designated Survivor – a great show if you haven’t watched it yet.

I love our local radio station and listen to it all the time. They play a great mix of older music and current songs and this classic came on the other day. I couldn’t help but sing along:

For my birthday Hubby bought me my very first Lego set! Yep, I got to 33 without ever owning my own Lego… It’s a pretty awesome camper van and I built it over the course of the day. It was amazing to have a distraction from work!

We’ve also been making cocktails! It wouldn’t be a birthday without a glass of fizz and so we made Lemon Drizzle Gin Prosecco and a Lemon Drizzle Martini! Yep, all the lemon drizzle! I had no idea that lemon drizzle gin existed but it’s been great taste testing it – and gin and Prosecco is a winning combination!

We also went a little OTT with the bake of the week this week and instead did three lots of baking! I had a cooking apple that needed using so I made a blackberry and apple pie as well as blackberry and apple rustic tarts which have been fantastic puddings this week.

I did a big Next sale order a couple of weeks ago and bit by bit it’s been arriving in the store. This jumper is one of my favourite purchases. I haven’t bought a new hoodie in ages and it’s so comfy. It also has ‘good vibes only’ on the back and just suits me perfectly. I also bought a ‘Fri-YAY’ hoodie which is pretty much my uniform on a Friday from now on. The ‘loungewear’ section of Next makes me really happy at the moment.

and lastly…

This weekend we are busy, busy, busy but doing fun stuff. YAY! We’re seeing friends both days and I’m excited to spend two whole days with my favourite people, seeing some of our other favourite people! I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Have a great weekend everyone!

You sound as if you have had a lovely relaxing week Donna and I am very impressed you built your Lego in one day. I would never think to mix gin with Prosecco, and lemon drizzle gin just sounds divine. Loving all of the TV too, especially The Apprentice and Cold Feet #littleloves x
