Regular readers will have followed my WeightWatchers journey and will also know that we love food in our house – we have three good meals a day and lots of snacks too! It’s so hard to find snacks that are healthy as well as tasty so when I saw Nim’s Fruit Crisps I jumped at the chance of trying them.
What flavours do Nim’s Fruit Crisps come in?
Nim’s Fruit Crisps come in a variety of flavours, some by themselves and some paired with a complementing flavour – Apple crisps, air dried pineapple, strawberry, mango, orange. Each bag is classed as one of your 5 a day and has between 57-75 calories per 20-22g bag.
What are Nim’s Fruit Crisps like?
I’m familiar with vegetable crisps and dried fruit having eaten a lot of it over the last few years or used it in recipes. Dried spongy apple or hard banana chips. Chewy dried apricots, raisins, craisins, sultanas. There is a lot of dried fruit around but Nim’s Fruit Crisps are completely different, they’re not ‘dried fruit’ as we know it and instead are much more like crisps, having been air dried.
The air dried fruit doesn’t have the skin, seeds or core removed prior to drying and so looks just like sliced fruit but with the texture of crisps – thin and very crispy, almost brittle. Nim’s Fruit Crisps are unlike any other dried fruit I’ve ever experienced.
What did we think of Nim’s Fruit Crisps?
We had single packs of Nim’s fruit crisps whilst watching a movie, and LP even had a bowl! Nim’s fruit crisps are great for keeping in your bag as a snack out and about or for having in the cupboard ready for a snack at home.
They’re a great anytime snack that is 100% natural, nothing has been added to them and they are suitable for vegans and vegetarians with no preservatives either. I don’t think I have ever come across any other snacking product as natural as these dried fruit crisps – aside from eating fruit as it comes!
Dave and I are huge fruit fans and LP has inherited this from us too – She’ll eat fruit constantly if we let her. It was lovely to try a new fruit based snack although I don’t think Nim’s Fruit Crisps will replace fruit in everyday life but it’s a great snack to keep – it won’t go off as quickly as normal fruit and won’t get bruised or brown in your bag!
Nim’s Fruit Crisps are definitely worth trying if you love to snack, enjoy health food products or just want to try something new. The lovely Nimisha, creator of Nim’s Fruit Crisps, has given one reader the chance to win a selection of Nim’s Fruit Crisps so that you can try this innovative product too!
