I have been looking everywhere for a winter coat. The last two winters I spent pregnant and nothing fitted me, I lived in huge jumpers or coats that are now far too big and ever since the weather turned colder I’ve been looking for a coat to see me through not only this winter but the next few winters too.
La Redoute came to my rescue when the offered me the chance to review a piece from their New Season collections and I chose a Mid-Length Wool Mix Coat by Laura Clement. The coat was from the Laura Clement Collection and looked like it ticked every one of my imaginary boxes – warm, practical, ‘grown up’, pockets and longer than my bum!
What is the La Redoute Wool Coat by Laura Clement like?
The coat has a large collar that can be left open, partially fastened or fully fastened depending on your preference and circumstances. I preferred to have the coat fastened but the collar open although on colder or windy days having the option to fasten the collar fully would be great – anything to add an extra level of warmth when out and about!
The Wool-Mix Coat is a great fit – I’m a size 12/14 and am usually worried that size 12 clothing of any kind may not fit over my bum – a hazard any pear shaped woman will be familiar with. The cut of the coat means that it fits well as it’s nipped in slightly at the waist and flares out gradually over my bum and hips. It is a lovely fit!
The material of the coat is really nice and soft being 55% wool. It’s also fully lined and feels really thick and good quality. The coat has two pockets which are a good size and is double breasted with fully functional buttons and a press stud fastening on the collar.
I’ve worn this coat a lot over the last few weeks and love it! It fits me well, looks good and keeps me warm. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on La Redoute’s New Arrivals in future!
