Little Man has always loved trains but he has a new found love of cars and gets excited whenever he sees toy cars on the TV. So when Hot Wheels sent us their new Track Builder Stunt Bridge Kit Little Man was pretty excited to have his first proper car toy – aside from the wooden garage he had as a toddler!

Now, we’re used to garages and car play mats but car toys have definitely come a long way since I last bought toy cars. Hot Wheels are the name when it comes to toy cars and I was pretty impressed when I saw the Track Builder Stunt Bridge box – the set looked amazing, something I knew any child would love.

I put together the Track Builder Stunt Bridge Kit within just a few minutes – the pieces all clip together and have really clear step by step instructions to follow. The set does need 2 D size batteries, not included.

Once the set was constructed Little Man got to work building the fun extras – the set comes with construction bricks that all slot together to build a variety of doors to crash through, bumpers to hit and platforms to aim the cars at.

The set also comes with one red Hot Wheels car and for extra play value you could invest in more cars to use. It would be lovely if the set came with another car but the addition of the building element adds so much to the set rather than just racing cars.

The batteries mean that the Hot Wheels bridge isn’t just a static bridge but one that opens and closes. Once you turn it on the bridge moves up and down. You can then put a car – or two – in the launcher and hit it down to see the car fly along the ramp and over the bridge. The launcher does need to be hit really hard – something the children took a while to get used to.

The cars sometimes land on the downward ramp or sometimes somersault across the sides and other times they’ll land gracefully onto the platform at the other side of the bridge. The children love seeing where the cars will end up and what moves they’ll complete on their journey through the air.

The Hot Wheels Track Builder Stunt Bridge Kit is a really big toy. It’s really long and so takes up a lot of room – something to bare in mind when purchasing. But, the ends of the ramp come off easily for storage, making it a much more manageable size.

Little Man loves his Track Builder Stunt Bridge and it was the perfect introduction to Hot Wheels for him. But, it would also be great for any Hot Wheels fan to add to their collection and I know that Little Man will now want lots more Hot Wheels for Christmas!
The Hot Wheels Track Builder Stunt Bridge Kit has an RRP of £49.99
