Eat Your Photo Review

Disclosure: We were sent the featured products for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.

I love cake nearly as much as I love Christmas so when Eat Your Photo asked us to review one of their gift cakes I couldn’t wait for it to arrive. I have reviewed personalised cakes in the past and haven’t been very impressed so I was hoping that Eat Your Photo would exceed my expectations.

Eat Your Photo have a wide variety of personalised cakes and their gift cakes are 16cm square and weighing a whopping 1.4kg. I was given a choice of a classic sponge with cream and jam or a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream – this was the option I chose as I just love a chocolate cake. I could also add any photo and chose a festive one of the children.

The cake arrived by courier and I had email and text updates to let me know when it would arrive. I actually even had a phone call from the courier when he was outside as Dave was on the nursery run and I was at work. Thankfully Dave was 10 minutes away and the courier was happy to leave it on the doorstep for us – great service.

Review: Eat Your Photo Gift Cakes

The cake was well packaged and came with ribbon around it – the presentation really was fantastic. The only downside for me was that the photo was lower quality than I expected as I’d sent a very high quality photo but the children’s faces lacked definition. You could still tell it was them though and I’m not sure how much quality you can put onto something edible.

The actual cake was incredibly light and moist, a wonderful cake with a really creamy filling and good quality icing. Everyone who tried the cake commented on how nice it was and the cake easily cut into the suggested 18 portions.

Review: Eat Your Photo Gift Cakes

For £18 I think the Eat Your Photo gift cake would be great for a celebration – a bargain compared to a lot of personalised cakes. Eat Your Photo even sell edible photos so you could make your own cake and add a photo to it – a great service that I am sure there is a market for. Overall we’ve loved trying Eat Your Photo and if you’re looking for something a bit different for a Birthday, Christmas or any other occasion then take a look at their website.
