Earlier in the year we reviewed one of Braun’s thermometers and couldn’t fault it. It was the same as the ones they use in hospitals and for that was enough to choose never to own another brand thermometer. But Braun have now released their new range of of high precision thermometers and I was keen to see how they could improve on the great thermometer that we still use now.

What were our first impressions of the Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer (NTF3000)?

We were sent the Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer NTF3000 and I immediately loved the fact that it doesn’t go in your child’s ears, you don’t need to buy hygiene covers for it and you don’t need to bother your child if they’re asleep or very unwell – This thermometer is as unobtrusive as you can get!

How easy is the Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer (NTF3000) to use?

Obviously, I tried this thermometer out on myself before testing it on the kids. You literally turn it on, aim it on your forehead just above your nose with about a 5cm gap and then press the temperature button. You hold in the same place for a few seconds whilst it calculates the temperature and then the temperature shows on the display along with green, amber or red to calculate whether the temperature is fine or too hot.

The children reacted well to this thermometer – they were curious but let me take their temperatures and then LP wanted to see what colour the display showed. Taking their temperatures was so much easier than with a standard thermometer and the reading was consistently accurate. Little Man has been teething recently and the temperature readings have been realistic at the different stages of teething.

It’s always important to have a thermometer that you can rely on to give a true reading as easily as possible and the new Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer is definitely a thermometer we’ll be using going forward – it’s so easy to use that there’d be no reason to ever use another!

The Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer NTF3000 has an RRP of £52.99

  1. What a great idea! Toby really isn’t too impressed with the thermometer in the ear, and I love how this one lights up too so you don’t need to turn the light on to read the temperature in the middle of the night!
