Review: Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set

If there is one thing Little Man loves it’s trains so when the Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set arrived for us to review he couldn’t have been more excited. The set would be a perfect introduction to the world of trains but would also work well alongside an existing rail collection. Little Man already has the figure of eight train set and lifting bridge and so the Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set slotted nicely into his collection.

The Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set is made up of 39 pieces. These are a lot of different rail sections, a fire station, train, fireman, fire truck and lots of other accessories. The fire station works as a bridge to help the track make a dual level figure of eight and even has a roof that you can take on and off for easy access to the trains and track below.

LP and Little Man have really enjoyed playing with the Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set and have acted our stories where different things have been on fire, a cat has been stuck up a tree and the fire and rescue train has to go and rescue all sorts of characters too.

The Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set is perfect to enjoy with siblings, friends or even parents and building the train really helps the children understand shapes and how things work together. Little Man loves building train tracks by himself and often makes them go all around the house. The Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set works well with the other train sets and the fire station can be added to any part of the track to add an extra dimension to it.

We love the Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set and think it would be the perfect way to start any train set collection. It works alongside other Bigjigs Rail toys and also other main wooden train set brands. All of the pieces are well made with durable paint and the wood gives a timeless, classic appeal to the train set.

The Bigjigs Fire and Rescue Train Set has an RRP of £39.99

What a lovely set, my girls would appreciate that too. I love wooden toys, I think I’ll always be a traditionalist!

My boys would go wild with this. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without our train track…it is amazing! and it’s fun to gradually build your collection. My mum still has ours from when we were young and it’s always a hit with the grand kids! xx
