One staple for any child’s toy box is a train that you can build on and the Bigjigs Coloured Block Train is just that! A three section train complete with pull along string and a large quantity of blocks that can be stacked on the train.
One thing I love about the Bigjigs Coloured Block Train is that all the blocks are different shapes, colours and styles which is great for educational play. Both Little Man and LP have enjoyed sorting the blocks into colours, matching the right blocks to the same colour section on the train and finding the different shaped blocks. The only slight downside is that there are green blocks but no green wheeled section of train – LP was insistent that only blue blocks could go on the blue section and refused to put the green blocks on the train as there wasn’t a section especially for them!
This train really lets children explore their creative side by making the blocks into faces, building towers and sorting the shapes by shape, colour or design. Little Man is at the stage where he will happily put blocks onto the train and take them off again but LP can easily sort the shapes into types and this shows that the Bigjigs Coloured Block Train will last a child years as their development progresses.
The string to help you pull the Bigjigs Coloured Block Train along is a great feature although we did find that the three train sections did come apart quite easily when pulled along, the pegs that hold the sections together could do with being slightly taller.
Unlike other building block trains that I have seen, the Bigjigs Coloured Block Train has so many blocks that makes it a really versatile toy. Little Man and LP both love it and as it is aimed at 12 months and over it really is a toy that will stand the test of time.
The Bigjigs Coloured Block Train has an RRP of £18.49
