A Shade Wilder (ASW) – Loophole Mirror Review

Disclosure: We were sent the featured products for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.

I was recently given the opportunity to review a piece from the ASW A Shade Wilder range and I jumped at the chance. If you’re not aware of the brand, ASW state on their website:

Dressing our homes is not unlike getting ready for a date, or a party. How we choose to adorn our homes can set the scene for our romantic encounters as well as our catch-ups with friends and family. We extend our creative thinking and reflect our personalities in our own homes and the passionate, sometimes risqué (and always stylish) pieces we have created at A Shade Wilder are intended for homeowners who are not afraid to really come out of their shells and make a statement.

I have to agree that A Shade Wilder really does have something to suit and reflect every personality. From candles and vases, to mirrors, ornaments, wall art and murals – some pieces are incredibly individual and others would suit any home and lifestyle.

We were lucky enough to be sent the Loophole Metal Mirror for review and it is an amazing statement piece! The mirror is nearly a metre in diameter and is now the focal point of our upstairs. It comes in a range of metallic shades as you’ll find with a lot of ASW products they are available in a range of colours to suit your existing decor.

The mirror came packaged amazingly well – it was  attached to a large piece of thick card to make it ‘float’ in the middle making sure the edges of the mirror didn’t get damaged. It was then well padded and inside a further box clearly marked as fragile and delivered by a reputable courier company.

Hubby hung the mirror on the wall and found it incredibly straightforward – the mirror is even designed so that the mirror surround is flush with the wall – no fixings are visible once the mirror is in place. The loopholes around the edge of the mirror add a great sense of depth to the whole mirror. You usually find with large statement mirrors that the surround is the main focus of the piece and the mirror is secondary – and usually very small. In the Loophole Mirror the actual mirror is still a very good size and still very functional.

A Shade Wilder have a huge variety of products, a lot of statement pieces and a very eclectic mix of styles. The mirror we have reviewed is a great statement piece but also useable and not just art. A Shade Wilder are definitely worth considering when looking for new items for your home. They’re also based in the UK which is a definite plus point and A Shade Wilder care a great deal about craftsmanship and this is definitely apparent in our Loophole Mirror.
