Redhead Roundup – Books {July 2016}

I have written this month about books from Milly & Flynn already but here are a few more books the children have been enjoying this month:

I’m Hungry

This is such a lovely book full of beautiful illustrations and a really lovely story. It’s about a baby dragon who eats all of his friends before realising that it’s actually not very nice to eat your friends and so burps them all back up again and finds other things to eat instead.

The children thought it was really funny and it’s the perfect length for a bedtime story. It’s a really lovely picture book and one of their new favourites. There are lots of animals for the children to spot and the text moves nicely around the page, always giving them something new to look at.

Where’s Wally Colouring Book

I loved Where’s Wally as a child and these new colouring books are amazing – you can look for Wally and colour in at the same time! They would suit older children or adults and the pictures are so involved and intricate that you could easily lose hours colouring in a page.

There’s a burst of colour on each page to start you off and then you can just let your creativity take hold. This book is a really good size and really good quality – with nice thick paper so colouring doesn’t go through the pages.

Where’s Wally Activity Books

The Where’s Wally Activity Books have that classic Where’s Wally theme of trying to find Wally on each page but with the added fun factor of having lots of different activities on each page.

These activity books are well suited to older children and have so much to do that they would be perfect for long journeys or taking on holiday. The books are made to last and would be perfect to pick up and put down over an extended period – even if it’s just to have a quick search for Wally!

Pom Pom is Super

This has turned into another firm favourite book. It’s about Pom Pom and his friends, all coming for a play date as superheroes but Pom Pom not being sure what his super power is. All of his friends tell him all the things he really is super at which makes him into a very special super hero indeed!

LP and Little Man loved all the animal characters in this book and really enjoyed the super hero theme. It’s another great book for bedtime – or any other time of the day – and the illustrations and fun story keep the children engages throughout.

Noddy Magazine

LP and Little Man love magazines and Noddy is their latest favourite. It’s so good to be able to introduce the children to characters I loved as a child and Noddy Magazine is full of all the familiar favourites and more.

In the pages there are so many activities, stories and things to look at that even Little Man was entertained – and it came with a magic writing/drawing board toy too – which actually worked! We all loved Noddy Magazine and know that we’ll be buying it again for all those long journeys and treat days!

Disclosure: We were sent the above books to include in this post however all opinions are my own.

    Aw bless, Noddy brings back memories, I remember him from my childhood but my children aren’t really aware of him yet. I like the look of the Where’s Wally colouring book too!
