Disclosure: We were invited on this day out for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.
Not only were we recently sent a Samsung Galaxy K Zoom to try out and review as part of our usual family life, but we were also given a chance to go on a great day out and document a lovely family day in our lives with the help of the Galaxy K Zoom and Samsung’s 100 Days of Family campaign. Samsung’s Speak Pictures hub are documenting the lives of 50 families across the UK to celebrate the incredible diversity of the modern British family.
Dave, the children and I don’t have very much time together as a family now that I am back to work, so we try to make the most of the days we do have as a family – generally two days each month. Our latest one was spent at Legoland Windsor and we managed to capture our day with the help of the Galaxy K Zoom’s professional grade camera.
We had a great day at Legoland – arriving early and staying until the children were exhausted at 4pm. There was so much to do that I really do think you would need a good couple of days to experience all that Legoland has to offer.
We went on a few rides and spent a lot of time in the adventure playground where Little Man gained so much confidence in his walking – There really is no stopping him now! We skipped the wetter aspects of the park though as they would have just taken so much time!
We had a lovely buffet lunch followed by yet more playing and then a stop off for ice creams and slush puppies before venturing around the rest of the park. LP loved Legoland’s MiniLand and we could have easily spent the whole day there.
Little Man had a nap whilst LP and Daddy panned for gold and LP loved that she won a golden medal to bring home with her! I think Dave enjoyed this more than LP did!
We loved the rides – Boats, submarines, helicopters and trains. There is something for everyone with different zones, rides suitable for different ages and so much to look at in between.
We all left Legoland absolutely exhausted but oh so happy – LP chose a pink sword in the shop and both her and Little Man had Legoland badges!
As far as the Galaxy K Zoom camera goes, the selfie alarm is fantastic and something that all phones, and cameras, should have built in. It makes it so easy to take in focus and natural selfies without needing to see the phone screen – this is something I wish Dave and I had in our camera ten years ago when we were taking selfies before they were even called selfies!
The built in Auto Focus/Auto Exposure Separation is great for getting the precise balance of light and clarity with the touch of a finger. So often I take a photo that is on auto focus mode and yet the parts of the photo will be too dark and other too bright. With the auto exposure you can pick part of the frame that has just the right light balance and it helps you to take a perfect picture.
Pro Suggest Mode offers 10 optimised filter settings which add Instagram style finishes to photos that you take. On top of this the phone offers a great range of editing options rather than just the standard flip and crop. You can add filters, add text, frames, airbrush, remove red eye and so much more at the touch of a button – I’ve never had so many editing options in a phone before.
Dave has always been a fan of taking panoramic photos and often with cameras on phones the panoramic process can be quite trickym with the Galaxy K Zoom panoramic photos were effortless, as you can tell by the photos above!
A full Legoland review and a full review of the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom will follow but for now I just wanted to share some of the 300+ great pics Dave took with the phone’s awesome camera – He loved it!
