Planning LP’s 5th Birthday Party | AD

This year will be the first where LP has a proper Birthday party. Up until now we have done what we did for Little Man this year and have hired a bouncy castle, had a barbecue and squeezed as many people into our house and garden as possible. It has been perfect.
But this year LP has so many friends. As she started school this year she wants to invite pretty much the whole class and I want her to be able to invite everyone, without having to worry about the space. So we have started looking at options for her Birthday at the end of August.
Soft Play – Soft play parties are easy. They last for a couple of hours, have food included and the children use up all of their energy racing around the place, climbing, sliding, playing and just having so much fun. LP loves a soft play party.
Venue Hire – We could hire a party venue through somewhere like Venuefinder and either pay caterers or do the catering ourselves. We’re huge fans of Costco and it would be easy to get platters of food from there as well as the cake. We could then hire our own soft play equipment, entertainment and a face painter, going all out for her Birthday celebrations.
Little Street – I’ve written before about Little Street, one of our local play centres where the children can dress up and act out lots of different job roles. They offer exclusive use and I know LP would love to have the whole place for her and her friends.
Country Park – Many country parks near us do Birthday parties too where they have a party room, food and entertainment but afterwards they let you spend the rest of the day in the park, feeding the animals, playing on the equipment and just having a really nice time.
Cinema Screening – This may be one for when LP’s a bit older but many cinemas offer exclusive use and private screenings for Birthday parties. I’m sure LP would love to share that whole cinema experience with her friends.
I’m not sure what we’ll end up doing for LP’s Birthday but five seems to be the age where proper Birthday parties start. She’s already so excited by it and I can’t wait to see her face, on her Birthday, when she’s surrounded by all of her friends and family.

Oh this is so lovely, that bouncy castle looks so much fun! We deliberated long and hard over Libby’s this year because she wanted a party, ended up settling on soft play and sharing it with someone else because she’s a bit little to have enough friends to fill the place herself.
