I don’t normally take resolutions very seriously, but 2013 is going to be a year of change for my family and I, and I would like to make some decisions relating to those changes. So here are my resolutions.
2012
2012 was a really great year overall.
It was the year I got back into Twitter, and with that came a huge amount of support, help, encouragement and some new, great friends! It was whilst being on Twitter again that I decided to start this Blog and I am glad I did, it has been a place for me to be honest, to vent, to try and support others and to give a perspective of things. My blogging and Twitter-ing will definitely continue into 2013.
Pregnancy Update – 17 Weeks
Well I haven’t blogged for a month – since I announced that we were expecting another LP!
This last month has flown by, everyone now knows about Belly-Baby and I have started planning maternity leave at work. Realistically I’ll be leaving at the end March and taking my annual leave before starting my maternity leave in mid-May, ready for Belly-Baby’s arrival towards the end of May. I am really looking forward to those 2 months with LP, if all goes to plan!
A Little Announcement….
I haven’t blogged in a while. Going back to work and LP breaking her leg didn’t really give me the urge to start writing again. I thought I’d wait for something worth writing about.
Holiday Cottage From Hell! Woodview Cottages – Mowhay Cottage, Pensilva, Cornwall Review
We booked our first family holiday in Cornwall about 6 months ago, ready for our friend’s wedding on 1st September. We booked a cottage, part of Woodview Cottages – through Holiday Rentals for 8 nights starting on 31st August, and it looked lovely! It was one of many holiday cottages and holiday homes we looked at when searching for short breaks, holidays and properties across the whole of the county.
LP’s 1st Birthday
Yesterday, 28th August, was LP’s 1st Birthday!
To mark the occasion we had a gathering at our house on Bank Holiday Monday. A BBQ with friends and family. It was a really lovely day! A few people unfortunately couldn’t make it for various reasons but it was still a lovely day.

Recently I have decided that all Mums should bake. And they should bake well – obviously this is a little bit tongue in cheek. This is taking some practice and I think it will take years to perfect! But I think that I have ticked the ‘Mums must make cake’ box, even if the cakes aren’t perfect just yet! One of my favourite cakes is this Banana Cake recipe, as it uses up ‘past their best’ bananas and tastes great too.

After the popularity of my Cheese Scones recipe, I thought I would also share my Healthy Fruit Scone Recipe for a bit of variety. This basic scone recipe gives a lovely sweet option and something else to add to the baby led weaning menu but also something that the whole family can enjoy. I don’t think you can ever have too many scone recipes!

We have now been Baby Led Weaning for 3 months. Little Pickle has still only fed herself, we have never spoon fed her. BLW is definitely a way of life for us now and I am so glad that we first started weaning this way.
Letter to my 16-Year-Old Self
The last couple of weeks, and my last couple of blog posts have cemented the fact that I am really proud of where I have got to in life. The last 9 months since LP arrived have been my happiest and I have been thinking often ‘If I knew then what I know now…’
