This week has been such a long one. The children are exhausted, they’re both getting colds and we really are just looking forward to breaking up for Christmas.
So here are a few things we’ve loved this week:
The children have been getting into the festive spirit with A Christmas Tale by Joules. It follows the adventures of the Crackle Family and Emily’s four pets Montague the dog, Sausage the cat, Paul the rabbit and Molly the Goose and the children have loved following them on their festive journeys.
I’m a little sad the children already have the book – and love it – as it would make a perfect stocking filler – especially as 100% of the profit from the sale of these beautiful books goes to Charitably Joules.
I haven’t watched much this week apart from Grey’s Anatomy. I only started watching it less than two months ago and yet I’m already halfway through season 12. It’s SO addictive, gripping and heartbreaking. If you haven’t watched it then you should – although it will take over your life.
Dave got an Amazon Echo Plus a few weeks ago and it has reignited my love of music. I love asking Alexa to play relaxing music or 90’s pop and see what comes on. This song came on this week and I hadn’t heard it in so long. Such a tune!
I have been making plans for next year again. Each year I have a Stigu planner for my blog work and their to-do lists literally save my sanity! So I have been working out my blog content for next year, pencilling in much needed time off and really just making sure I start next year as I mean to go on.
But, the making hasn’t just been paperwork this year. I’ve also been trying to tick a few more things off our annual Bucket List and so the children and I made Cinnamon Swirls. They were so easy to make – using ready made pastry – and I’ll definitely be making them again.
We’ve also been making drinks for the festive season with the help of Fentiman’s mixers. Their tonic water is a staple in our house and we love the rose lemonade – on it’s own or as a mixer. But it’s been lovely experimenting with the rest of the range too.
Massive fail on this one – I have just been in jeans and hoodies all week!
This weekend we are off to a log cabin in the woods for a night and I can’t wait for cosy time with my little family, away from housework and Christmas prep. It will be great to have a break before the Christmas madness starts.
Have a great weekend everyone!
