Disclosure: The products featured were sent for inclusion in this gift guide however all opinions are my own.
It’s that time of year where my inbox and social media feeds are full of Mothers Day and I thought it would be nice to put together a few gift ideas for the women in your life – whether that’s you, your mum, your mother in law or a friend who is a fantastic mum or who is expecting her first child.
I love to receive good quality sets of smellies and they always feel like such a treat. The pampering gift set of choice this Mothers Day is going to be the Sanctuary Indulgence Box which looks absolutely beautiful and includes Liquid Gold Bath Elixir, Body Wash, Body Scrub, Body Butter and Hand Cream. The products are worth £41.50 but it’s priced at just £20 which I think is an absolute bargain.
For a luxurious but individual product, Anma have a range of vegan and cruelty-free body massage oils, each with a different aim – from toning to reviving, detoxing or for muscle relief. The oils smell fantastic and work really well, massaged into the skin until fully absorbed.
Hempz Beauty create 100% vegan, paraben free, gluten free and cruelty free products which are enriched with 100% Hemp Seed Oil which is fantastic for enriching hair and skin with moisture and hydration. Their Body Moisturiser comes in a handy pump action bottle and works well, leaving skin hydrated but not at all greasy.
The Evolve Organic Beauty Skincare Bestsellers Gift Set would make a wonderful gift this Mothers day. It includes Hyaluronic Serum 200, Daily Renew Facial Cream and a Radiant Glow Mask. Together, the products promise to leave skin deeply moisturised, plump and smooth.
I always love bath bombs to both give and receive as gifts and these Rose Wine bath bombs are such a treat – and a little bit of a novelty too. The bath bombs smell great and give the bath a glittery sheen too – a really lovely addition to a relaxing bath.
Another gift set that would make a lovely gift is the Moroccan Hammam Spa Ritual set from Vie Naturals. It includes Beldi Black Soap with Eucalyptus, Rhassoul Clay from the Atlas Mountains and Argan Oil which have all been sourced from Morocco for an authentic Hammam experience, one of the oldest cleansing traditions in the world. The Spa Kit also comes with an exfoliating kessa glove and an ethically sourced coconut spoon made from the palm of coconut trees.
Everyone loves candles and they are definitely part of any pampering routine – so I’ve included the Yankee Candle One Together 2019 Scent of the Year candle here with other products that help you to relax and unwind.
In matte white and gold, the One Together candle is inspired by the fragrance of the rare Miracle Flower, found only on the remote Ogasawara Islands in Japan. It creates a really beautiful fragrance – and looks lovely too!
Anyone who knows me will know that Sophie Conran for Portmeirion is always at the top of any of my gift lists. Any of the pieces from the collection would be a wonderful Mothers Day gift but this Cafetiere is definitely top of the list. It’s such a beautiful product that would look great in any breakfast setting and with an 800ml capacity it’s a great size for a few cups of coffee too.
Succulents are everywhere at the moment but no plants live long in our house so a set of artificial geometric concrete succulent pots would be a much better gift idea – and would last so much longer than a bunch of flowers too. These would look great on any shelf.
If the mother in your life is better at keeping plants alive than I am, a beautiful planter from Pow Pots would make a wonderful gift. The pots come in a range of colours and designs and are the perfect pop of colour for any room. They would hold quite a substantial size plant and would be a real talking point around your home. The pots are all hand painted in the UK and as they are made from fibreclay, Pow Pots are smooth and solid but lightweight, frostproof and much stronger than traditional ceramic and terracotta planters.
I’m really big on reducing waste at the moment and with that in mind a Sigg Water Bottle would make a wonderful gift. All of SIGG’s bottles are BPA and EA free – and can be used for coffee, tea or cold drinks. Add to that the fact they come in a range of colours and you have a really lovely gift.
An innovative Mothers Day gift that any parent would thank you for is the Lumie Bodyclock Shine 300. It delivers a unique experience of sleeping and waking with light which features adjustable sunrise and sunset settings, an FM radio and a variety of sleep and wake sounds. It has daily and weekly alarms, adjustable light intensity, a nightlight, a light-sensitive auto-dimming display and a tap-control snooze. As you can see, it’s a great piece of technology that once you use you won’t be without.
A really fun and pretty useful gift would be a Scratch Map. This Deluxe Edition map is black and copper, showing silver when scratched and it would make a great addition to any room, looking beautiful on the wall and something a whole family can enjoy together.
A gift that I am sure would be used throughout the spring and summer is a Tesalate Towel. The towels are perfect for by the sea, at the pool or trips to the gym but they’d also be great to sit on during a trip to the beach or the park. Incredibly compact and light they are perfect for people on the go plus they dry quickly, are ultra absorbent and sand just slips off the towel too.
Something to Wear
Something a little different for Mothers Day would be a nice pair of sandals and Havaianas are a favourite of mine. They have sandals for everyday wear and others for dressing up and adding a glamorous touch to any outfit and either would make a wonderful gift.
A new bag is always a wonderful gift and this Mothers Day Mia Tui have put together a selection of Mothers Day bundles that would be perfect for any mother in your life. This bundle features the Jane bag in a beautiful mustard colour with a complimentary scarf and Beau organiser bag.
Mia Tui bags are designed to be a busy woman’s best friend – stylish yet practical. They have a place for everything and are made from the highest quality fabrics, not using any animal based products throughout the whole range, making them suitable for Vegans. The Jane bag is beautiful, practical and great for my life as a busy mum. This bundle is priced at £40 – saving £22 on the total individual product prices.
A really lovely gift that gives back is a pair of socks from Critically Endangered Socks. With every pair of socks bought they help protect some of the world’s most critically endangered animals. The socks are made from an incredibly soft and sustainable blend of bamboo and cotton and come in five designs. They are the best quality socks I have ever worn and they wash really well too. I’ve also heard that they are launching baby socks soon with the aim to protect some of the world’s most critically endangered baby animals. Head to their website for more information.
Jewellery is always a really traditional gift and this wing necklace from award-winning goldsmith Jana Reinhardt would make a beautiful gift for any Mum. It’s inspired by soaring birds and mythical angels, making it a lovely whimsical piece that will add dainty charm, whatever your Mum’s style.
A watch is another really lovely gift for Mothers Day and First Class Watches have a fantastic range to suit every personality and style. This Daniel Wellington Melrose Rose Gold and Black watch is beautiful, with a gift box and petite design it would make a statement without being too big or heavy, pairing perfectly with any outfit. It’s a watch that can go easily from day to night and the rose gold is so popular at the moment that it really would be a wonderful gift.
A really lovely, personalised gift would be a handprint, fingerprint or footprint piece of jewellery from True Love Keepsakes. They have a great range of gifts, each one the perfect way to capture memories and to give a really sentimental gift that will be treasured for a lifetime. I’ve reviewed their handprint bracelet in a previous post and if you go and visit it you can win your very own bracelet too. You can find it here.
Something to Eat or Drink
Everyone loves a hamper and this Pink Prosecco hamper from Spicers of Hythe would make a really lovely gift for Mothers Day. It includes Strawberry Cheesecake Popcorn, Strawberry Bellini Fudge, Strawberry and Clotted Cream Shortbread and a bottle of Italian Nua Rose Prosecco making it a lovely indulgent gift that I’m sure anyone would enjoy.
Biscuiteers are always high on my list when it comes to edible gifts and their biscuit tins are always a really lovely gift that can be enjoyed over time or shared with friends and family. The Flower Power Biscuit Tin includes ten beautifully iced chocolate biscuits and a tin that can be kept and reused for years.
Chocolates are always a really appreciated gift and a box of Guylian Master’s Selection would be great for Mothers Day. The assortment includes 30 mini pralines in ten incredible flavours from Coffee-Cardamom and Ginger-Lime to Caramel with Costa Rican pineapple.
Gin is always a great gift for me and Firebox have launched an elderflower and cucumber Pixie Tears gin which is such a beautiful green colour which shimmers too. It’s as magical as gin can get – and it tastes great too. This is a must for any gin fan on Mothers Day.
Prosecco is such a popular gift and this Mothers Day a Princess P Prosecco Subscription Box would make a really lovely present. The box includes a full size bottle of Princess P – which is light and fruity and perfect for the spring. It comes with a box of treats which vary from month to month – sweets, treats and pampering products make this a really wonderful gift.
If you just want to take a nice bottle of wine to your mum’s house for Mothers Day lunch or gift a bottle of wine that she can enjoy then there are quite a lot to choose from. Some of our favourites are The Ned Pinot Grigio, Tesco Finest Saint Mont and Canevel Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore. They all go so well with food and would make a great Mothers Day lunch accompaniment.
Other options for a wonderful bottle of wine could be La Boheme Act 4 Syrah Gamay, El Tesoro de las Montañas or The Ned Pinot Rosé. Wine is always a lovely gift and getting just the right bottle can be quite challenging so I hope these suggestions help!
The ultimate Mothers Day keepsake gift would be a Family Hand Casting Kit from the Edinburgh Casting Studio. The kit has everything you need to create a beautiful sculpture of the whole family’s hands entwined. This would make a wonderful gift that could be treasured forever.
Time Out and Relaxation
The ultimate gift you can give any mum is the gift of time out, relaxation and a lay in. Red Letter Days have so many spa breaks and hotel stays that would be the perfect gift. Something like a one night spa escape would be my dream Mothers Day gift.
But, if you want to give a gift of choice, a Treat Her Smartbox from Buyagift would be a great present choice. It lets the recipient choose from 2600 experiences that could be something for her to do by herself, a couples experience or even a family day out or meal.
Gifts to Share
It’s always lovely to get a Mothers Day gift that can be shared and if you have young children then the Superhero Mum books from Nosy Crow would be a wonderful gift. There are two different books – Superhero Mum and Son and Superhero Mum and Daughter – both with hard board pages, perfect for little hands, and a story that would be wonderful for a mum and child to share together.
How about a gift that an expectant mother can share with her baby? Bola pregnancy necklaces from Nibbling release a soft chime sound that brings inner calm and harmony to both mother and baby. Each of the necklaces has hand selected tassels and semi precious stones to give each a unique design and to suit every personality. This really would make a wonderful gift for any pregnant woman on Mothers Day.
So there you have a whole host of gift ideas for any mums in your life. I’m looking forward to Mothers Day and I hope, whatever your circumstances, that you have a lovely day too.
