When we visited Paris in the summer I did a lot of research before booking our hotel. There’s always so much to consider when going on a family trip and we had all our usual boxes to tick – a nice hotel, well located etc but also with enough space for two adults and two teenagers. In the end we settled on the Hotel Michelet Odeon and couldn’t have been happier with our choice.
Where is Hotel Michelet Odeon?
The Hotel Michelet Odeon is in the Odeon quarter in Paris, just a stones throw from the Jardin du Luxembourg. The hotel is close to the Panthéon, the Sorbonne, and the Saint Germain des Prés district, in the heart of the Latin Quarter.

The Hotel Michelet Odeon facilities
Hotel Michelet Odeon has 42 rooms, from single rooms and double rooms through to family rooms and family suites. They also offer a continental breakfast at an additional charge, in an area just off the hotel reception, have a luggage storage service and reception is manned 24 hours a day.

The Hotel Michelet Odeon is pretty much a no-frills hotel but, saying that makes it seem like a Premier Inn or similar. But, it’s far from it – it’s a basic, clean hotel, in a great location and with some of the friendliest staff we have ever come across in a hotel.
Staying at Hotel Michelet Odeon
When we arrived at Hotel Michelet Odeon we were greeted warmly by the staff on reception, directed to our room and advised that we’d need to give the room key card back any time we left the hotel – this was unusual but a simple request to agree to.

We had booked a Family Suite at the Hotel Michelet Odeon. This consists of two rooms, one double and one twin, and a bathroom. The Hotel Michelet Odeon also have a Family Room which is a slightly cheaper option but this is just one room with all the beds in it rather than two separate rooms with an adjoining door.

Our room was a good size double with plenty of storage space with another good size twin room adjoining it – which also had a lot of storage space in it – and they both had French doors that opened onto Juliet balconies overlooking a side road.

There was then a bathroom off of the twin room which is the only thing we would have changed – having to go through the kids’ room overnight to use the bathroom was not ideal. But, the bathroom was a great size, with two sinks and mirrors, complimentary toiletries, a good size bath and plenty of fresh towels.

The room came with a safe, good quality wifi and air conditioning which was a real bonus when it’s as hot as it was when we visited! There was also tea and coffee making facilities, a couple of bottles of water, a hairdryer and a TV.

Our stay at Hotel Michelet Odeon
We had a great stay at Hotel Michelet Odeon. The room was the perfect base for our family of four, with enough room for everyone to chill out and relax. Plus, the wifi worked well and the air conditioning ensured the room was always a good temperature for us.
We slept well at the Hotel Michelet Odeon but did find that it was quite noisy early in the morning with bins being emptied in the street outside or guests in the hotel walking past our bedroom door and making lots of noise with their cases. This isn’t really something the hotel can do anything about and it didn’t detract from what a great stay we had at the hotel.
We gave our key card in every day when we left the hotel and were greeted warmly when we returned each evening. The hotel was only a short walk from many attractions – the River Seine, Notre Dame, the Louvre Museum and more. It could not have been more well located and was also close to Metro stops if you wanted to use public transport.
You can find out more about the Hotel Michelet Odeon over on their website and for reference the address is: 6 Pl. de l’Odéon, 75006 Paris, France
