Love the Little Things – 51/52 – #LittleLoves

Some of the items featured in this post were provided for us to feature. I’ve added a * next to those items for reference.

Although this is the penultimate Little Loves of the year this may actually be my last – or I may write next week’s a little late. I’d like to complete a whole year as I have loved joining in with this linky for the first time this year and I’m glad that Life with Munchers gave me the enthusiasm to start linking up all those months ago!

So here are a few things we’ve loved this week:

Well, I read a column in the Telegraph a couple of days ago and it was something I didn’t love at all actually. It was a post about Tim Peake and his trip to the International Space Station. I wrote this post in response.

Apart from that I have read about the lovely Sian, regular linker-upper of Little Loves saying goodbye to her blog, Potty Mouthed Mummy. Now, again, that isn’t something I have loved this week. But I know that the blog hasn’t brought Sian happiness for a while now and I know that she will be happier without it. For that reason I’m adding this to my Little Loves for the week and taking the opportunity to let Sian know how much her blog will be missed – although she’ll still be on social media!

This week has been all about First Dates, Homeland, 24 Hours in A&E and everything else we watch every week. We watched the Christmas special of Towie and I am so, so sad that Nanny Pat died – in real life – and send lots of love to the Wright family. I know Towie isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but they’re real people and losing a relative at any time of the year, especially at Christmas, is just so sad.

On a positive note, X-Factor! Louisa was a really deserving winner, she is so young to achieve so much but I really wanted Reggie and Bollie to win – we all know that the runners up always end up doing better though… Ben Haenow or Fleur East? Fleur East has done so much better already and she was the runner up last year. Watch this space!

The X-Factor final. I know I’ve just mentioned it but seriously, how do they stretch ‘you win’ out to last two hours?! I have to admit I was a bit bored by the end but loved Craig David making an appearance and Coldplay got me a little excited for our concert date next year!

Last Saturday night was my work Christmas do. I haven’t been to a Christmas do in years and as it was at a posh local hotel it was lovely to get dressed up. I had a really lovely night, a couple of drinks, a bit of a dance and was home just after midnight. It was lovely.

The most exciting thing I made this week was Christmas Pudding Sundae. Such a great twist on a typical Christmas pudding and even people that don’t like Christmas pudding would love this. The recipe is on the blog tomorrow.

and lastly…

LP finishes school at 1:15pm today and from there we have an action packed few days – we are taking the kids straight to have their Christmas haircut before going to see Father Christmas at a local garden centre. We’re then off to London for the weekend. I don’t think we’ll rest now until the 23rd but I am so excited for quality time with my little family. I finished work on Wednesday and am not back until 29th! Happy days!

Enjoy this last week before Christmas everyone – it’s a wonderful time of year.

  • You look lovely in that dress.

You’re the second one to mention Sian, so when I’ve checked out everyone’s little loves, I’m off to see what’s happened, I’m a bit behind on everything.

  • I’ve only just learnt about Sian leaving the blogosphere! Sad for us but good for her if it’s the right choice to get some balance back. I had my work Christmas do last Saturday night which was a lot of fun – just having a night (and following morning!) off the kids made me feel so much more relaxed about everything. I will have to read your post on Tim Peake – I have to admit the news has gone a bit over my head lately (no pun intended!). Have a great time in London this weekend Donna and a very Happy Christmas if we don’t cross blog paths again before! X #littleloves

  • You look fan in your dress and sounds like a brilliant night! Have a really great weekend in London and fantastic Christmas with your two. Louisa was my favourite – Reggie and Bollie were not my sort of thing – lol. I am so sad about Sian too. So talented and such beautiful perspective. She will be missed. Happy Christmas xx
