Love the Little Things – 38/52 – #LittleLoves

This week has been LP’s first full week at school but also one that we’ve spent mostly lurgy-ridden, full of back to school sickness. The kids have snotty noses and coughs and I’ve been relegated to the sofa for the best part of the week feeling terrible. But there were some positives to the week – here are a few of our little loves from this week:

Last weekend I managed to read a whole book. Ye, one whole book! The Girl on the Train had been on my reading list for ages and when I had a voucher to spend I decided to treat myself to some new books. I read this in less than 24 hours and loved it – there’s a big twist which I guessed quite early on but it didn’t stop me loving the book. A great read.

I have been ploughing on with my Hollyoaks and Home and Away marathon. I am only up to the end of July in H&A so doubt I’ll ever catch up but I’m trying! Love the Braxtons so can’t quite give up on it yet. Other than that I haven’t watched much this week, a very ‘meh’ week for TV.

I’ve also watched Little Man grow in confidence and our rainy day visits to soft play whilst LP’s at school show me how far he has come. There’s no sign of my ‘baby’ any more – Little Man is a fully fledged little boy now and I love it – although it makes me slightly sad at the same time, only because it really does go so fast.

I’ve made use of my Target Dry coat this week as the heavens have opened! It’s a great rain coat and if you take a look at the review there’s also a giveaway there to win £150 to spend on the site – go on, enter!

LP chatting non-stop about her days at school. The couple of days I’ve picked her up this week have been lovely. She tells me what she had for lunch, who she played with, things she did and so many other things. She talks all the way home and then carried on for most of the afternoon. I miss her massively when she’s at school but it’s great that I get to hear all about it when she’s home.

I made a couple of things this week. Firstly, this Cheese and Tomato Tart. It had breadcrumbs on the top and a layer of tomato relish at the base. It was amazing! Love a good tart!

I also made a Chicken and Chorizo Bake that had parmesan cheese mixed into the topping. It had a great crunch and tasted lovely – a really nice dinner and plenty leftover for lunch.

and lastly…

I’m hoping that I’ll be better by Sunday as we’re off to Drusillas Park for the day. I’ve never been but am so excited as I know the kids will love it – let’s just hope the rain stays away too!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

The Girl on the Train is one of those books that I thought couldn’t live up to the hype – which was pretty big – so I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did! Hope you are better soon and enjoy Drusilla’s. Our Thomas loves the Thomas there!

Ah, I’ve been thinking about reading ‘The Girl on the Train’ for a while now – will give it a look if it’s that much of a page turner! Thanks for the recommendation x
