Love the Little Things – 31/52 – #LittleLoves

This week has been another lovely week, full of days out with friends and time with the kids. I have had my usual days at work too but we have definitely had a lot of quality time around my working hours. It’s been a really nice week.

First I have to have a shout out to Jess at Along Came Cherry for this post about getting ‘free’ stuff through blogging. I couldn’t have said it better myself. I, like most bloggers, spend the equivilent of full time working hours on everything associated with the blog. Things and experiences we receive to review are anything but free – we work incredibly hard to do the job we are commissioned to do when we are sent things to feature on the blog as well as all the other blog admin too. A great post.

I also read a couple of books. Yes, a couple! At the start of the year I wrote on my Bucket List that I’d like to read ‘a’ book and I have now read about half a dozen. I have definitely got into the swing of it. The first book I read was Fairytale Beginnings by Holly Martin that was a really nice read although a bit random at times with ghosts, hidden treasure and ancient family history but a really nice read all the same and a perfect ending too.

I also read Broken Silence by Natasha Preston too, purely because it was only about 99p on download. It was about child abuse so definitely not a book for everyone but I love anything about court cases and this had a really good court case theme as well as a good survivor story about life after abuse. It was a really well written book and one that I was sad to reach the end of.

Hubby and I watched X+Y the other night – a movie about an autistic child growing up and how he and his family deal with his condition. It wasn’t our usual kind of movie but it was really good and had a great cast too.

Apart from that Hubby’s been on lates/nights so I’ve been in bed watching Hollyoaks, Home & Away and catching up on One Born Every Minute. Without saying much else, that poor young couple on this week’s episode. Really hard to watch.

New hair! I had my haircut last weekend and always love it the first few weeks when it’s so short it just goes right when I blow dry it and it doesn’t need anything else doing to it. I won’t be getting it cut now though until about October so it will definitely be longer then!

I watched Doc McStuffins with LP and Little Man a few days ago and they were teaching kids to brush their teeth and sang a song that went something like ‘you gotta brush them, brush them, you gotta brush them, brush them, let’s have a party in your mou-outh’. Yep, there are no words. But I have had that in my head ever since.

It has been a BIG making week this week. I have made Chocolate Cheesecake Sundaes, Strawberry Cheesecake Sundaes, Baked Orange Cheesecake and a Quiche Lorraine. Excuse the following photos, a bit of foodie spam. The recipes will be up on the blog soon.

I’ve also made progress on our photo wall. All of the photos are now in frames and are ready for hanging in our lounge – it’s just getting the time to lay it out properly.

So that’s it for this week. Another lovely one and I can’t wait for the weekend – roll on 2pm tomorrow when I finish work and go home to my babies! Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
