This week has gone super fast as it’s been full of fun stuff – two days out on Sunday and Monday with a lovely hotel stay in the middle. We don’t have family time every week so when we get a chance to do something together we try and make the most of it and that really was the sort of family break we needed. It was lovely!
Here are a few more things we have been loving this week…
I read the whole of The Miniaturist book in about three days, mainly because I wanted it over with. I know it has got pretty good reviews but for me it was quite a sombre, depressing book with no real positives and definitely no real happy ending. I was left at the end asking so many questions that the book didn’t answer and felt quite ‘meh’.
I have just started reading something a lot easier to read – Tied up with Love by Amelia Thorne. I’ll let you know what I think when it’s finished but so far it’s a pretty standard romance and I’m enjoying it.
The numbers on the scales. I finished my first week of the #SlimFastChallenge and aside from dinner and breakfast in the hotel at the weekend I stuck to the plan completely and lost 4lb over the week. I have one week left of the #SlimFastChallenge and am hoping to lose the same again – we’ll see! Then I’ll be moving on to a more balanced diet of healthy eating and exercise.
My running gear has featured at least a couple of times this week and I’m really loving running again. Apart from that I bought myself a few vest tops from Primark – only £3 each and a little different from the plain black ones I usually wear. They’re quite snug but comfy and quite nice for everyday wear.
The sound of Little Man laughing in his sleep. There is no sound as pure and happy as the sound of children laughing in their sleep and I hope whatever Little Man was laughing about is something we can recreate when he’s awake. It was a beautiful sound.
Plans for the summer. I really miss LP when she’s at preschool and it’s hard to make plans around it so we are spending the summer having playdates, seeing friends and cramming as much in as possible on the days when I’m not working. We’ve also just brought Legoland annual passes so that Dave has somewhere to take the kids when he’s off work too. It will definitely be a much visited place of the summer – especially as it’s so close to where we live.
Whatever you get up to this weekend, have a good one!
