Living Arrows – 26/52 {2017}

Welcome back to another week of Living Arrows. How are we half way through the year already? If you have managed to link up every week of Living Arrows so far – thanks so much! But also thanks to the people who are here for the very first time or those that pop by every now and again – I love seeing so many people link up each week.

If you haven’t joined in with Living Arrows before it’s is about celebrating childhood. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday we share a moment from our week and invite others to do the same as part of this linky.

Each week I share two pictures from our week – one of each of our children – but you can share one or more pictures that capture a moment of childhood. The following week I’ll share my three favourite photos from the week before, linking back to the owner’s blogs.

So if you would like to link up, grab a badge and post around a photo of childhood from the previous week. I look forward to reading your posts and make sure you visit a few of the other posts that have linked up and leave a comment too!

Here are a few of my favourite photos from last week:

Glimmer of Hope

Baking Betsy

This Glorious Life

There is nothing photographically brilliant about this week’s photos but they sum up parts of our week, and little snippets of the children’s personalities. LP’s photo was taken after her swimming lesson, just before we had dinner. She was in comfy clothes, hair a mess and just so simply happy.

Little Man has had a funny week. I had his school induction evening where we got to know what class he’ll be going to when he starts Reception in September and we got given so much paperwork too. But he has spent the week waking early, being emotional over the smallest of things and being incredibly fussy and clingy too. He wants what he wants and there’s no moving from that. Is this what being four is like? But, he has been giving the best cuddles this week too.

I’m really looking forward to reading your posts this week. If I thought a lot of people joined in for the first week then I was amazed at the amount that joined last week! I’m going to keep commenting on all of the posts that link up and sharing my favourite photos each week. Thanks so much for taking part and for adding to this great little community we’re creating – make sure to go and comment on a few other posts at some point during the week too.

  1. Sometimes the ordinary moments are the best for photos. You can see so much personality here – we also had Jessica’s settling in day at school and she was a pro but my goodness how much paperwork?!? Hope he is back to his normal self soon x

  2. It’s weird when they’re out of sorts. Hopefully it’s short lived for Little Man, and he’ll be back to his usual self soon

  3. I think some of the best photo’s are the totally natural ones, they are the memories we want to keep after all. LP does look very relaxed and happy. Your little man does sound like he’s out of sorts I’m sure lots of Mummy cuddles are helping him to feel better x

  4. Aww poor Little Man. Maybe the knowledge of school is getting him a bit emotional. Cuddles are always good though. And LP looks so lovely in that picture, happy and natural x

  5. I love the simplicity of your photos this week. Poor little man. Was he at the meeting or has he heard much about starting to school? Maybe the idea of change has unsettled him. I hope this week goes well you all, Little Man particularly.

  6. I think, sometimes the ordinary moments make the best for photo. So much is captured. I had my little one’s settling in days and it’s scary to go. Hope your little boy is back to himself soon xx

  7. My lovely Harri has had her settling in days ready for September and she has been clingy and emotional. It must be so scary for them #livingarrows

  8. I think 4 is definitely the age for a lot of emotional development and pushing back. I remember all the paperwork from the beginning of school, I’d like to say it gets better but it doesn’t. You definitely have to check the bag, we failed to do it so often initially #livingarrows

  9. These are lovely every day captures this week. Although Toby’s got another week before he gets there it sounds very much like four to me, Toby is the same with struggling to keep on top of his emotions a lot of the time. I still can’t believe they’ll be starting school so soon.

  10. I’m really behind again! Thank you for your very lovely comment this week hun.

How exciting for Little Man! We’ve had preschool inductions recently too – is it terrible that I can’t wait?! I’m joking of course (kind of) but having two, including a colicky baby, is taking its toll.

Gorgeous selection of photos, thank you for hosting x

  11. Getting up too early always makes my boys so emotional, and to be honest I am the same when I’m sleep deprived! I get so emotional and can’t get things into perspective. I really hope that he had a fab induction and that he’s really looking forward to starting school. I’m sure he will be fantastic! #LivingArrows xx
