Love the Little Things – 4/52 – #LittleLoves

Another week, where has it gone?! This has definitely been one of the more ordinary weeks but as this post goes live I will be at Heathrow airport waiting for a flight to spend the weekend with two of my lovely friends – Mummy Munch from Life with Munchers and Steph from Mental Parentals. But more about that next week, for now, here’s an insight into the week that was…

Again, I have mainly been reading blogs this week. One of the best foodie posts I read this week was from one of my favourite foodie blogs, Mrs Bishops Bakes and Banter. Last year Lucy set herself the task of baking something new, and pretty incredible, each month and she is doing the same again this year – go and read all about her Baking Challenge. The London Mum wrote a great, eye opening post about the Page 3 debate and Mummy says put a completely different spin on things with her post – both are worth a read! Lastly, my lovely friend Kate wrote a post about the negative side of the blogging world, I could have written it myself, I have thought it often enough!

I have had a few days of Hubby working lates and nights which sees me in bed as soon as the children are – this is my chance to catch up on lots of Home & Away and Hollyoaks – my guilty pleasures that stem from my teenage years! Every time I think it can’t get any worse, Hollyoaks does something to shock and sadden me. What an awful storyline for Ste at the moment.

The only other thing I have watched this week, apart from copious amounts of Disney, is Call the Midwife. Such a fantastic show and one that always opens my eyes – to think it is very true to life and how people lived in years gone.

There’s a theme here… My onesie and slipper boots mainly! Lounging around the house in my comfies. I had a couple of days at work where I wore my uniform but as soon as I got home it was back into my comfies!

I was also made to wear toy glasses when LP was playing ‘Eye Doctor’ – every child loves to play role play games and LP has been watching a lot of Doc McStuffins!

I woke up yesterday to the sound of LP singing Frozen in bed. She loves to sing and does it without even thinking about it. Other than that I have been listening to a lot of local radio and songs that remind me of years gone by – ones before 2010 that I actually know the words to and can sing along to. That’s definitely where my musical knowledge ends, I don’t know any songs or artists from the last few years.

Lots and lots of salads! I bought a salad from Subway the other day and it was amazing and only Β£2 but I realised almost immediately that I could make the same salads at home so I stocked up on jars of pickles, sweetcorn, olives and lots of other yummy things and had salads for lunch all week – yummy!

I also made a pretty cool – even if I do say so myself – train track for Little Man. It was one of those that you didn’t know how it would end up until it was finished, and I was quite pleased with it!

and lastly

I’ve only run once this week as had a bit of a twinge in my left leg since. I’m going to be starting again when I’m back from my weekend away – next week will be smoothie breakfasts, salad lunches, normal dinners and more exercise!

Happy Friday everyone!

That is an awesome train track, lucky Little Man. The boys got a wooden train set for Christmas and absolutely love it, it’s weird how a toy like that is still so popular these days, i remember my siblings and i having one when we were kids. It has definitely been a onesie and slippers kind of week here too, we’re all ill and haven’t felt up too much! Sounds like you have an exciting weekend planned, have a lovely time! xxx #LittleLoves
