October is always one of my favourite months. It’s a month that sees me turn a year older, a month where we’ve said goodbye to summer, are in the swing of autumn and have all the joy of Christmas just around the corner. So here are a few things we’ve been loving this month:

* Tough Mudder

At the start of the month I did something I would never have even thought about a few years ago. I did Tough Mudder with three other bloggers – and it was a great experience. It pushed every single part of me, gave me so many bruises and used every ounce of energy I had. But I’d do it again.

My birthday

It was my birthday this month and I spent it mostly relaxing, watching TV and making jigsaw puzzles and then watching a movie with pizza and my gorgeous family. It was a simple but lovely day.

* Campanile Birmingham

The weekend after my birthday we went to Birmingham and stayed in the Campanile hotel. It was such a lovely base for our weekend away and so much nicer than other budget hotels we’ve stayed in – they even had interconnecting rooms for families!

Drayton Manor

We go to Drayton Manor at least once a year as the children really love it so we went whilst we were in Birmingham. We all had such a nice day out, the weather was kind to us and we can’t wait to go again.

Alice Holt

We went to Alice Holt forest to do their Shaun the Sheep trail and had such a nice morning. We explored the forest, played and the trail was so much more interactive than a normal one as it had an app with lots of little challenges in it too. It was a great family day out.

And there you have it. A month summed up in days out and adventures. It’s been a pretty lovely month and I can’t wait to see what November will bring. I hope you’ve had a lovely October too.
